I read this within the past 2 years.

A famous, well-established stage director discredits and attempts to block the career of a younger TV (reality show?) actress who wants to go on stage. He is angry she was hired to act for him and believes all she has to offer is a beautiful face and nice figure. She is actually very talented and overcomes the profession barriers he creates.
Well written with great character growth as the novel progresses.
Hoping to find more books by the author, but can not even remember the title of the book.
