annob [on hiatus] (annob) | 4048 comments When a Goodreads Author manually sets a specific edition as the default (primary) one, does it automatically set the chosen edition's description text as the default description of the work?

My reason for asking I've seen the description text of a few earlier editions disappear (only visible in the work settings changelog) and be replaced with "Wohoo, updated and revised version!!" type of description - which shouldn't show for the earlier versions of a book.

I've keept an eye on it in changelogs, and it seems to happen when an author select a new edition as their preferred default. But it could also be because the author manually ticked the "set this as the default description" box of course. Since neither of the two events are visible in the changelog, it's tricky to know what happened that erased the original descriptions.

Has anyone else noticed this behaviour impacting earlier editions?
