Tell me about yourself.
I started writing fiction since year 2012. Presently I am working as an associate professor and head. ‘ The White Collar’ is my first work of fiction in English published in 2017. At present I am busy in writing a novel titled ‘ambition unlimited’

2. The topic you have chosen to write about is a controversial one, what inspired you to pick it up?

My Muslim students especially girls inspired me to write this book. I realized that few of them really face social problems of their religion and are unable to live a carefree life of a student. It may be controversial but I have written it with a positive message regarding the social evil of ‘Triple Talaq’

3. Have you ever experienced or witnessed a prejudice based on religion in your real life?

As a Hindu I have not faced such problems of social discrimination but I realize that Muslims especially from illiterate and rural areas face such issues that need social reformations.

4. What according to you lies in India’s future, religion wise?

Pace of social reforms in Muslims is slower in comparison to other religion. There are more rigid social norms in Muslims that should be diluted.

5. Any message you would like to give to your Indian brethren?

The message of ‘ Hello sir myself Zoya’ is that Muslims should also educate their daughters, give them social freedom and social evils like ‘ Halala’ and ‘triple talaq’ must be abolished.
