ABANDONED. Sci Fi Adventure Virtual Reality Video Game book

So all I remember about this book is a read it n the ate 90s early 2000s, the author wrote it about her son (even though its fiction). It was a greyish book with redish writing. The main protagonist played video games and was in a VR like game adventure, I believe a bully from school wa in there with him too, and the title or cover had Master and Playstation (or playstation 2) in it. I also believe some of the puzzles and trials they encountered in the game were based on actual Playstation (PS1 or 2) games
