SOLVED. Fantasy book about a wizard who is a woman, masquerading a s a male so she can become a wizard. [s]

This is an old book, probably 1070’s. The main character pretends to be male so she can join the wizard’s guild. The name of the book is the character’s name. It is essentially a series of short stories chronicalling her adventures.
Among other details, no one can know her gender or she will lose her magic. She cannot eat or drink in front of a male.
I remember almost the entire book, just not the title and it’s driving me crazy!
