Short story writer with a humourous twist in the end

Remember reading a two page short story of a soldier waiting to propose to a lady and through out the story the author gives you an impression that the soldier is old and the lady a young damsel...however tables turn towards the end....trying hard to remember the name and author of this short story....Saki ? Not sure....can any one help.
