ABANDONED. Fantasy. 10-12 foot vampires, set in England, 3-4 book series.

I haven't read this book series but a friend of mine is trying to remember it and the only information he can remember is that it is set in England, has vampires that are 10-12 feet tall and is a 3/4 book series. I know it's not a lot to go on but I've tried googling all different combinations and come up with nothing so I'm hoping that it will ring a bell with someone on here.
