I am liking two days for a book so far. I think it is more relaxed. Earlier it seemed so rushed, there was no time to enjoy the book because of the speed. That is my personal opinion. Now I am reading third and fourth book and I feel so relaxed while reading it. I think this way is definitely better than the other one. So I think 14 days are better for finishing books than 7 days.

Dee (mandeepkaur3) | 91 comments I finished If cats diappeared from the world and honestly, I didn't like it much. The story was good but I think maybe it wasn't written well. I don't understand the reason but all I know is that I coudn't get into the book.

message 55: by Shannara (new)

Shannara (httpwwwshannarareads2com) | 149 comments So I'm 50% of the way done with The Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy and I'm struggling to finish it. It's not that it's not good, but it is confusing sometimes and I'm just not sure where it's going... I am going to continue reading it, but it may take me a while.

I also started If Cats Disappeared from the World and so far it's pretty good. Definitely an interesting premise.

I've been failing at reading this month so far, so I think I'll only try to wrap up those two for this sprint.

In comments/reviews for If Cats Disappeared from the World on the book page, a lot of people were saying maybe it's because of the translation that it doesn't seem like well-written English. I'm not sure if that's why you're feeling that way?

message 57: by Erica (last edited May 08, 2019 10:39AM) (new)

Erica (errski) | 59 comments I've already read Hitchhikers Guide but I have intention to re-read it for this sprint.

@Shannara I'm not sure if the book is supposed to make sense. lol

I was the same! I thought it was an interesting idea for a story but something just kept me from getting into it. I wanted to like it but I just could not get interested. Oh well, I guess that happens sometimes!

I've read book 3 from this series "it was always you ", so I know that Meet me there will be heartbreaking and full of emotions, but with a happy ending

I've started reading it and it's so easy to follow, and it's one of my fav tropes, enemies becoming lovers (dw clean read ) and im excited to read how Ashlyn will react to Luke being someone else

Can you please comment on this?

message 66: by Erica (new)

Erica (errski) | 59 comments In response to feedback question, I personally think I like the longer amount of time because I feel like I can read more books, unfortunately my schedule this week is messing with my being able to do that. But I do think the amount of time is too long (14 days total), my suggestion is sticking with the longer amount of time per book (2 days) but reading less books or having 7 books, but you can pick 1 of 2 each 2 day period and 1 of the books is stand-alone (maybe the one with the most votes?). Also if someone feels they can read 2 books in 2 days, they can just read the 2 books across 2 days instead of 1 book in 2 days. But that's just my suggestion. I think having 2 days to read each books is better though and if everyone wants to read all the books then doing it over a 14-day period is the best for that.

Omg I can’t believe I just finished that all! And it’s 12:30am 😂😭😭 I really need to sleep now XD
But I loved it! It was so good and full of deep and heart breaking emotion, not only because of their relationship but also Luke’s personal life! I can’t imagine being without the one person who is most important to you 💔 but Judy has done a fabulous job as always! Need to read more of her work !

How did everyone else go? Did you enjoy it?

Progress update: 1/7

*❆ Kαɾҽɳ ❆* | 3040 comments Mod
Also for the feedback, I definitely prefer the 2 days per book. It less stressful knowing I have time to catch-up with everyone if I’m late, or have time finish it when I know I don’t have much time during the day. Because I don’t do late night readings unless it’s worth it! XD

message 69: by Erica (new)

Erica (errski) | 59 comments I think I agree that I don't entirely enjoy the writing of If Cats Disappeared from the World, but I like the premise of the story so far and I am not finding it particularly difficult to read.

message 70: by Shannara (new)

Shannara (httpwwwshannarareads2com) | 149 comments I definitely like the two days per book. It’s hard to read two to three hundred pages in one day between work and kiddos lol...

*❆ Kαɾҽɳ ❆* | 3040 comments Mod
I just finished A Study in Scarlet and I thoroughly enjoyed it, and much more better than the movies!
I do love Robert Downey Jr’s Sherlock Holmes but actually reading about his motives and how he figures things out so simply by just closely observation, it’s amazing!
I will definitely read more of the series

Update: 2/7

message 84: by Saarah (new)

Saarah Niña (saarahnina) | 197 comments Sadie is so interesting. The two sisters remind me of my relationship with my two youngest sisters. Their mother is a little like mine too: pittying the youngest daughter against her elder daughter. Thankfully, me and my sister knew better. Most of the time ;)

P.s. I'm probably going to finish/read some of these sprint books after the 14th. Not gonna make it at this rate.... But will try, still.... I've found that I'm most busy when I don't want to be. :(

Erica (errski) | 59 comments Finished If Cats Disappeared from the World, and I want to read Sadie but not sure I'll get to it. I am on vacation and have no computer so I'm going to review later.

The middle of the book was a little too existential for me, and some of the writing really annoyed me, but I thought it was a good story.

Progress 1/7

Haven't finished Sadie yet, might do today though. I'm halfway through. Will add a prigress update then. Haven't finished any sprint books at the moment... (Still reading Tuesdays With Morrie).

Shannara (httpwwwshannarareads2com) | 149 comments Okay, I'm a little behind, but I finished The Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy and I ended up liking it. It just took me a while to really get into. It was such a strange little book!

I also finished If Cats Disappeared From the World and I wasn't as huge of a fan of this one. (view spoiler) But, overall, it was an alright book. The end got me...

Progress: 3/7

Saarah Niña (saarahnina) | 197 comments Thanks Aqsa!

I finished Sadie just now. So powerful it's heart-breaking. Cuts deep. I didn't like the ending too much even if it's realistic. The whole book is realistic to a fault, won't be able to stop thinking about it...

Progress update: 2/7

Picking up Foolish Hearts next for something less cutting.
