Thought I would start this discussion when I learned this week that not only is Beat poet Lawrence Ferlinghetti still alive -- he just turned 100 -- but he just published a memoir called Little Boy: Roman. The review I saw said that it is essentially one long, ranting sentence and talks about his bookstore (City Lights, which morphed into a publishing house), his Army service (he was at both Nagasaki and Normandy), his 2 degrees in literature, his career as a writer, and some of his exploits with the other Beats.

Sounds like a terrific challenge!

The writers festival is coming to town and this book sounded really interesting, the author going to talk about her experiences going feral in the South Island...Woman in the Wilderness: A story of survival, love & self-discovery in New Zealand by Miriram Lancewood
