Explain Double D Westerns

Hello,

I'm transcribing some old books for the Gardner Francis Fox Library and I'm working on Carty - Double D Western. Could someone please explain to me what is meant by "Double D"?

I assume that Double D is the cattle brand for the ranch, but out of context it's just a guess.

Thank you, Edwin. I have seen Double D Ranch when I've googled "Double D Westerns". There seems to be a lot of series of books centered around Double D Ranch.

The DD ranch was locate I belive in west Texas

A Double D western must take place around the ranch and cattle poking.

"Double D Western" was an imprint of Doubleday Books that published westerns in the 70's and 80's. That is probably what is being referred to.
