ABANDONED. Children’s book from 70’s about a little boat made from a matchbox

I used to read a book about little people getting into a boat they’d made from a matchbox with a sail made from a match I think. They would go on different adventures whooshing down the drains and through the water underground.
I read this in the 70’s
Any ideas?
