YA about 2 wheelchair-bound teens in who fall in love. Young man in wheelchair gives young woman in wheelchair a ruby ring. Set in an English care home (?) the pair refer to visiting vicars as "dog collars" and the visiting fur-wearing women from the board as something snarky. She dies unexpectedly and the staff are callous about it and in telling him. Late 1960s to early 1970s?
