ABANDONED. YA novel - two siblings find a hidden bunker and inside are two other siblings boy and girl asleep for decades and wake up, something wrong with them

Read about 2009-2012, didn't seem older than 90s but can't be sure, can't remember author or what the book looked like.
There was two siblings, boy and girl, who might have riden bikes a lot, and their parents trapped them in this bunker in the 40s I believe for some reason and forced them into a deep sleep maybe with drugs or magic I'm not sure, might have been for an experiment or to save their kids from someone or something. I think the olden days kids are trying to figure out why they were put to sleep.
The bunker was accidentally found by two other kids, siblings as well I think boy and girl, and when they opened the bunker the others woke up too - might have thought they were dead originally? They might have had a pet dog that woke up with them? I think it was set in either the 80s or 90s as I can't remember internet featuring.
Plot revolved around the modern day siblings trying to help wake up their parents possibly or heal the olden days siblings I think they were getting sick?
I remember the olden days siblings speaking in war time phrases I'm pretty sure.
I know at near the end of the book the olden days boy goes blind somehow but I can't remember how?
Would be super helpful if you remember or have read this too, I remember I really enjoyed it and don't know why the name or author hasn't stuck with me :/
