It's not a contest.

Haven't seen Luca yet.
Very behind on any Disney projects that aren't Star Wars or marvel.

Wasn't sure, so I kept my comments vague and spoiler free.

Travis (travishiltz) | 2397 comments continuing my random pop culture comments: Moon Knight is a beautifully designed and directed show which is making some story choices that I don't know if I like.

But … but it was a contest. They were both up for the Oscar for best animated feature. And Luca should have won. Damn Oscar awards ruin everything! 😾

So, I change my statement, it is a contest.

I feel for you.
I fell off the funky pop wagon and now own the entire Addams Family and am going to build a mad tea party set next.

May need to build some shelves.

Nope.
BF stuff shows up on the Who podcasts I listen to, but I've decided the safest bet is to avoid even looking at the stuff, otherwise I'll get completely sucked in.

message 1265: by Rick (new)

Rick | 2260 comments Travis wrote: "… otherwise I'll get completely sucked in."

Yep, that’s exactly what happened to me. First I was only going to get the 8th Doctor stuff, then the multiple Doctors stories grabbed me, then the War Doctor … River Song … and then I was trapped!

Don’t do it! Nicholas Briggs is the greedy succubus of desire! He is a siren that haunts your dreams and eats your paycheck! His hunger is vast and bottomless! Fear the Briggs! (Whispering:) Be afraid. Be very afraid. 🙀

message 1266: by Travis (new)

Travis (travishiltz) | 2397 comments He is insidious.
One of my podcasts just reviewed the new Space:1999 stories.

Rick | 2260 comments I’m really enjoying them.

Travis (travishiltz) | 2397 comments One of those good news/bad news days: Amazon isn't offering 'Legend of the Sea Devil' yet, but they do have 'Galaxy 4' available for rental viewing.

message 1269: by Rick (new)

Rick | 2260 comments I ordered a copy of Eve of the Daleks & Legend of the Sea Devils from Amazon. Must be up to their price gagging attempts again. And I saw the Galaxy 4 Blu-ray at a Barnes & Noble this weekend. Amazon is the worst, they’re so shady & swarmy.

message 1270: by Travis (new)

Travis (travishiltz) | 2397 comments It's a mixed bag.
They are a nessicary evil, most days, but I'm not a fan of the nickel and dimming stunts they pull.
I generally don't order from them unless I've built up points.

Not a fan of having amazon prime but still having to buy shows or movies.
Doctor Who is the only thing I think I make an exception for.
In that case it boils down to what's cheaper: the rental or the DVD.
I want to watch every Doctor Who story, but don't feel I need to own every one.

message 1271: by Travis (new)

Travis (travishiltz) | 2397 comments Amazon prime has legend of the sea devils...except my wife doesn't feel well and wants me to wait, so she can watch it with me and we are supposed to go away this weekend....

Why won't the world let me watch this show!!!!!????

Travis (travishiltz) | 2397 comments Well, time to finally bite the bullet and finish Tom's era of Who.

Only have Shada and Logopolis left.

Both are considered great stories, but I'm going to be sad.

message 1278: by Travis (new)

Travis (travishiltz) | 2397 comments Recently got hooked on the British sitcom 'Boy meets girl' and am now adding Rebecca Root to my list of people I want to be cast as the Doctor.

message 1279: by Travis (new)

Travis (travishiltz) | 2397 comments Shada: lucked out and ended up with a great version. It has all the live action footage with some pretty solid animation to fill in the gaps.
Last two episodes probably could have been combined, but a solid story, great cast and a couple nice easter eggs.
Lives up to the hype.

Seen her in Collette & The Danish Girl, but don’t have a strong memory of her in particular. She’s also in 4 audio box sets featuring the Eighth Doctor, beginning with Doctor Who: Stranded 1.

Highly recommend.
The description on amazon prime was vague, but I was feeling lazy and figured I'd just take my chances.
Really enjoyed it.

Though it was edited together as one big feature, so I had to wait like an hour to see the credits and figure out where I knew most of the guest cast from.

Yeah, when I was doing research I saw she was doing BF stuff.
Again, another instance of me and Briggs' psychic link.

message 1284: by Travis (new)

Travis (travishiltz) | 2397 comments other Shada thought: It's mentioned that the Doctor has come to Cambridge to visit the Professor at least three times, once in a different body.

Feels like BF is missing out on some potential stories here.

Rick | 2260 comments Ncuti Gatwa Is an absolute treasure on Sex Education. I’ve got some pretty high expectations for him as the Doctor.

message 1291: by Travis (new)

Travis (travishiltz) | 2397 comments The Doctor Who comic for free comic book day featured the Ruth Doctor and is a prelude to her getting her own mini series.

Mixed feelings: I like the Ruth Doctor, but I kind of hate the timeless child and how it messes with who-history.

message 1292: by Rick (new)

Rick | 2260 comments I’m sure I’m in the minority, but I love the Timeless Child.

That's fine.
I don't like the idea, but I don't get teeth-nashing, hair on fire angry about it.
I just kind of frown, shrug and go back to ignoring it.

Sure he'll be fine.
In nearly 60 years they've never miss cast the Doctor.
Once we see some photos of his outfit, I'm sure I'll get on board.

Right now, I'm still in the mour ing process for Jodi and Jo.

Oh yeah, it's not perfect. There's a major story point that bothers me, but I love that the MCU has relaxed in phase 4 and just embraced the larger than life, big cosmic craziness of comic books.

So, I've got my story idea, it features the Capaldi Doctor, and I just need to do some typing.
