MargieD2017 | 331 comments OK, I have finished 'The Golem and the Jinni'. I must say it was less than I was wanting and more than I expected. It was definitely a walk through a world I wasn't acquainted with. I found the author's ability to portray the fantasy characters of myth and legend extraordinary in that they were given human traits and a human life. The battles over good and evil were persistent while the Golem and the Jinni struggled with their realities and tempting their fates through pushing against the spells and wizardry that created them. While I enjoyed this book I couldn't say that I loved it. While revealing it wasn't heart pounding or thrilling for me though others may find this in their experience.

Sophia's story was probably the most memorable and the Golem's story was the most sensitive. I was drawn close to them both.

Joanne (joabroda1) | 12761 comments I have about 100 pages to go yet. I was a hoping for a five star read, but like you I will probably go with 4. I am looking forward to the sequel though.

Amy | 13033 comments This is one of those times when the sequel comes out years and years after you read the first. I’m going to read it to you, but the split is very far apart for me. This was also true for the clan of the Cave bear series. I read them all, and loved them, 20 years ago. So when the land of the painted caves came, I knew I didn’t want to read all five books again. I’ve been hesitant to add the addition.
