Chitwan Sharma | 3 comments Looking for the romance book where the heroine is physically and mentally abused by her step-mom and her dad. She is also bullied at school. One day it gets too much for her at school and even the hero says something mean about her like "Why are you even alive" something along these lines. The heroine attempts suicide that day but is saved by the hero who realises how wrong his actions were. While the heroine is recovering in the hospital, her step-mom tries to kill her but she is caught on time. The story skips ahead when the hero is in college and he sees the heroine there.
The book is a standalone and not the Reasons to Breathe Series.
I read this book last year but I'm not sure if it was published last year or before that.

Chitwan, can you tell us more about the heroine and hero - their ages, high school or college/university, favorite subjects/hobbies/skills, how they met, etc.?

So the main characters are in high school when the bullying happens. After the incident I think the heroine goes into therapy and takes a gap year. The hero and heroine then meet at the college again where the hero is part of some anti-bullying initiative which he joined because he regretted hi actions towards the heroine.

Chitwan Sharma is still looking for this and wrote:

"The h lives with her father and stepmother who physically abuse her. She is bullied in school because of the clothes she wears and her timid nature. The bullying at the school gets bad. The H who goes to the same school also says mean things to her like 'Why does she even bother living and she should die' something along this line. It becomes too much for the h to handle so decides to commit suicide but H sees her and the h tells him about her family life and the H feels very guilty. The H saves the h from the suicide attempt. The h is then admitted to the hospital where her father and stepmother lie about her injuries saying that those are self inflicted. They then try to kill her but some nurse I think catches them at the right time and then they are jailed. I think after this there is a time leap and we see H in college. The H is a part of anti-bullying initiative in college because of what happened with the h and the guilt he feels. He sees the h in his college and then they become friends and later start dating each other.

This book is not Reason to Breathe and Heart on a Chain."
