Using a member's suggestion, we as mods have decided to open the No Spoiler threads for the group's upcoming reads. We hope that it will be useful as one plans what books to read for the next month.
Threads will be posted a few days after the poll results are final.

I've had the same thoughts as JBF in the past about the usefulness particularly about choosing a translation

Terrific planning- Love it!

You’ll quickly get the hang of it, but just ask for anything else you’re not sure about. Today is the 1st of the month so all of June’s discussion threads will be open (spoiler and non spoiler) and found under the currently reading folder. July’s non spoiler threads will also open under this upcoming books folder :)

Is there one I missed?

Is there one I missed?"
We’ve only ever had one spoiler thread for our short story group reads and haven’t implemented non-spoiler threads for these shorter works.

No problem, I hope you got them fixed :)

Nominations close on the 14th, polls open for voting on the 16th and run until the end of the month.

We swapped from folders for each category, to one for current reads and one for upcoming books. Hope that helps :)

Agreed! =D

I'm adding a link that further elaborates on the differences of the two editions. For first time Henry Jamesers, like Vesna, I would suggest the 1881 version. But it is the later period style' s complexity and psychological interiority that makes James shine.

And Anne the reading and discussion is for the 1st quarter 2021.

So it starts Jan 1? I didn't see it listed with the other reads starting Jan 1 which is why I asked. Thank you for answering my question Sam.

So sorry that we were late at getting the quarterly read up for 2021. Here is that link: https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/...

This topic has been frozen by the moderator. No new comments can be posted.
This folder contains next month’s book selections No Spoiler threads. No plot discussion beyond the books synopsis as listed on the books jacket cover or the book's Goodreads page will be allowed. This early posting of the No Spoiler thread is to discuss any non-plot issues pertaining to the book.
Appropriate Posts could contain:
1. Information about the author.
2. Compare editions/translations.
3. Any historical or background information
4. Are you familiar with this author’s work? Do you have any expectations going into the book?
5. What made you decide to read this book?
6. Any fan fiction that you have read or would like to read? Just link the books.
7. If you loved the book and want others to share in that experience, use this thread to motivate others, again save plot specifics for the Spoiler thread
8. If you hated the book, it would be best to keep that for the spoiler page
The most important thing to remember is no plot discussion. Any post that contains plot information or spoilers will be deleted. We realize that sounds harsh, but it is all the moderators can do. We don’t have the ability to move it to another thread or save it until the Spoiler thread is created.
