Roll 6Space 25 - 5th book in series
- The Certainty of Violet & Luke by Jessica SorensenFinished: 19th September 2014
Rating: ★★★★
Review:
I loved the first 4 books of this series and read them in a couple of days in the summer. I've been looking forward this one and book 6, that's releasing at the end of the month. I've been wanting the conclusion to both couples story. I wasn't disappointed in the HEA for Luke and Violet. Luke was always there for Violet and supported her so much. Violet grew to trust that Luke was staying and have love. I was very happy with how it played out.

The Iron Knight by Julie KagawaSynopsis: To cold faery prince Ash, love was a weakness for mortals and fools. His own love had died a horrible death, killing any gentler feelings the Winter prince might have had. Or so he thought.
Then Meghan Chase—a half human, half fey slip of a girl—smashed through his barricades, binding him to her irrevocably with his oath to be her knight. And when all of Faery nearly fell to the Iron fey, she severed their bond to save his life. Meghan is now the Iron Queen, ruler of a realm where no Winter or Summer fey can survive.
With the unwelcome company of his archrival, Summer Court prankster Puck, and the infuriating cait sith Grimalkin, Ash begins a journey he is bound to see through to its end—a quest to find a way to honor his vow to stand by Meghan's side.
To survive in the Iron Realm, Ash must have a soul and a mortal body. But the tests he must face to earn these things are impossible. And along the way Ash learns something that changes everything. A truth that challenges his darkest beliefs and shows him that, sometimes, it takes more than courage to make the ultimate sacrifice.
I enjoyed this series....which really surprised me because I rarely read this genre. I was really on the fence about reading this one, the ratings were so mixed, that I put it on the back shelf. Well I am glad I finally picked I t up....The Iron Knight is a nice conclusion to the Iron Fey series. I think the whole series was done beautifully, the character's were great and I enjoyed the friendship among them, It was full of adventure and the author's writing style was easy to read.

byAlyssa DayAlyssa DayI am really liking this fast paced story. With each book I am drawn in deeper and deeper into the story of the Alantians....
To rescue the world from an overwhelming evil, Poseidon's warriors have risen from Atlantis. Chief among them is Ven, serving as the King's Vengeance by birthright and by battle challenge. None can conquer him - except perhaps for one human female....
The Warrior...
Ven's mind is filled with duty. He must serve as Atlantean liaison to the humans in a war waged against the vampires. A sword is his weapon - not diplomacy. But on a mission to recover the Nereid's heart - a ruby of immense power - it will take every ounce of strength he possesses to resist the sexual allure of the beautiful witch chosen to work with him.
And the Witch...
Erin's heart is filled with vengeance. She lives only for the chance at revenge against those who murdered her family. Now she must partner with a legendary Atlantean warrior whose dark desire threatens to crash through the barriers built around her emotions - and her heart. Caught in the trap of shifting alliances, how long can Ven and Erin resist their awakening passion?
Dark forces beware: Atlantis is awakening.
I think I'm going to quit guys. College's getting a little hectic and I'm not getting any time to read except at nights. But even then I'm too tired to stay awake for long and still get up early in the morning. We have already been late in rolling so many times because of me and it doesn't seem fair to you all. Hope you find a better replacement player :)
Sorry to see you go.... but some times "real life" takes over.... Good Luck with school and enjoy your time.....:)

Rating: ★★★★
I love Sherrilyn Kenyon's books, but this first book of the series co-authored by Dianna Love, didn't quite stand up. I liked it well enough, I just didn't love it. The world building is complicated. I will continue and see where these characters go.

Synopsis
Wes Holden has witnessed the ravages of war firsthand as an army special ops, but nothing could have prepared him for the senseless deaths of his own wife and son—or the private nightmare that follows. An empty shell of a man, he is unable to do anything but survive. Until the day he walks into Ally Monroe's yard.
Born and raised in the isolated beauty of the mountains of West Virginia, Ally faces a bleak future spent caring for her stern widower father and two brothers. With few job skills, she knows her wish for something more is hopelessly naive. But that doesn't stop her from dreaming that a stranger might walk into her backyard and transform her lonely life.
Something in Wes's fathomless eyes tells Ally all she needs to know. And when he settles into the abandoned cabin nearby, a special bond begins to form between them. But as Wes slowly emerges from his haze of pain, his soldier's instincts soon kick in. He knows there's danger hidden in the mountains, a place carefully chosen to hide a thriving business in illegal drugs. Worse, it's a threat closing in on Ally….
I have never cried so much - Wes grief was really hard to read about, and the author made it realistic. I also liked that she allowed a relationship to build between Allie and Wes, not the meet, fall in love, jump in bed relationship we so often read about. It was a good read, I would of giving it 5 stars, but there were some gruesome vivid details that were a bit too much.

I love this book from the Elder series....I couldn't put it down and I want another nowwww.
On the run from her former employer, Tess knows that she’s vulnerable on her own amongst the Elder Races. That’s why she decides to audition to become the human attendant of a powerful Vampyre of the Nightkind demesne. But while her position affords her the safety she seeks, her protector turns out to be more than she bargained for.
The right-hand man of the Nightkind King, Xavier del Torro is both terrifying and alluring. While his true nature frightens Tess, she can’t ignore the appeal of his innate sense of integrity and self-restraint. Thrown into Xavier’s world, Tess must quickly learn to navigate the dangers—both to her life and to her heart. But the biggest threat comes from her own past….

Review. I really am enjoying this series. She has developed the story and characters to were they seem real and I am finding I can't put these books down....
Eleven thousand years ago, Poseidon's warriors swore an oath to protect humanity from those who stalked the night. Now those powerful forces are uniting. So are two souls who are all that stand between justice and the eternal darkness...
Lord Justice made the ultimate sacrifice for his brother and paid for it with unimaginable torture. Now he's back, rescued from death, his sanity shaken, and his mission inescapable: to search for the lost start of Artemis. But the beautiful human female whom he has sworn to protect is shadowed by an evil that could destroy them both.
The archaeological artifacts of Atlantis speak to Dr. Keely McDermott, sharing visions of life long ago. The ancient revelations have cast her into a world between past and present, between reality and illusion--and, when she meets the fierce Atlantean warrior assigned to guard her, between terror and temptation. As their two worlds collide, so too will danger and desire...

Review:
I have loved this series and I really liked this last book. I thought it ended well. The last few books have been building up to the conclusion of the story, and in this one all questions were answered. I'm happy with the HEA of Rachel and Trent. Glad to have Al and Rachel back to rights. So sad to see this series end, but happy with the outcome.
Danielle the book I chose for this on some sites considered 5th but on this one 4th so I don't think it qualifies. I did read a book on the 25th that is the third in the series so we can use that one.

Roses Have Thorns: A Novel of Elizabeth I by Sandra ByrdSynopsis
In 1565, seventeen-year-old Elin von Snakenborg leaves Sweden on a treacherous journey to England. Her fiance has fallen in love with her sister and her dowry money has been gambled away, but ahead of her lies an adventure that will take her to the dizzying heights of Tudor power. Transformed through marriage into Helena, the Marchioness of Northampton, she becomes the highest-ranking woman in Elizabeth's circle. But in a court that is surrounded by Catholic enemies who plot the queen's downfall, Helena is forced to choose between her unyielding monarch and the husband she's not sure she can trust--a choice that will provoke catastrophic consequences.
I loved this series...I think this was my least favourite of the three books, but it was still a great read. It is full of Tudor Court intrigue and gossip, with a lot of treason against Queen Elizabeth I, and of course what makes the book - Romance. Very good read, I hope the author decides to write more historical fiction.
Hey just to let y'all know (although it looks like you'll be rolling tonight) Danielle found this and I just thought I'd warn everyone in case they can't roll until tomorrow.Advisory: RANDOM.ORG will be intermittently unavailable on Sunday 2014-09-28 due to maintenance work.
