R4: SSS First Place Readers (1)
Poor Mika! We needed a big roll though. Next roll we'll be in the teens (hopefully lol) which will give us lots more options with first in a series and standalones.
Lol, I wanted a big role. Damn stupid dice, I'm using my lunch hour scouring lol. My poor Jimmy John's sandwich.
Okay, since I totally wasn't thinking straight this morning - I will be reading
which is #8 in the Sentinel Wars series.Jenne, I can't find anywhere where it says my original book is set in New York. Oh well.
**Update**
Changing my book again - I also have Delusion in Death which is also due back in a few days. IT is set in New York.
Sorry for the confusion!
~Melissa~ wrote: "*sighs* Roarke :)"Ikr, I just started the series a few months ago. I just finished
a few minutes ago.
I just love accents. Anyone ever listen to the audio? Good narrator with a good accent?? I would love to *listen* to Roarke instead of just in my head, lol. Unless the narration is bad. Then, yeah... no thanks, I'll stick with what is in my head
I'm pretty sure LK listens and likes them. I've listened to the first two. It was just okay for me.My image of Roarke!
Jenne - Weather Wardens is one of my favorite series. Some were better than others, but still I just got such a kick out of it. And David is to die for!!
It is a very unique story and the characters are so interesting. Not always great, but I always looked forward to reading the next one. I've read the spinoff series to it - which I actually liked better and now I'm reading her Revivalist series. I just enjoy her writing.

I enjoyed the first one more than this one. Spoiler for first book: (view spoiler) I have a feeling things are going to really explode in book 3. This series is very unique and I've not read anything along the lines of it.["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>

Review: On the lam after being accused of murder, the Baudelaire orphans hide themselves as volunteers at a half-finished hospital working in the Library of Records, which may house the file containing the truth of what happened to their parents. Of course, where the orphans go, Count Olaf and his associates are not far behind. As this is the eighth of thirteen books in the series, the reader knows that the Baudelaires will survive even the most dastardly of Count Olaf’s plans, but the cliffhanger ending of The Hostile Hospital may have the reader scrambling to find book nine to see how the orphans will manage their next escape.

Review: Not sure why but I could never quite get into this one. The story just never grabbed me. There also isn't a lot of personal time with Roarke, though enough for her to deal with more fallout from her past. Roarke is still involved but it feels a little "been there done that" with it all. Though it is still such a fun series!

I really loved this one. This was one if my favorite in the series. Gwen was a bad chick. I really loved her, I understood her need to please her family but lived her life. Lachlan was amazing as well, I really hope the next in the series we get to see their wedding.
Rolled a 5 so were on spot 13 We can read a 1st, 3rd, or a 13th in a series, a standalone or the alternate of smoke on the cover :)
Oddly enough this is the same spot my ss team is on this week.
Just realized I posted what I was reading in the post your spot thread lmao! I guess I was sleepier than I thought last night.I'm reading a first in a series
I'm so sorry, Jenne! I totally forgot. Watching football last night and then fell asleep. Thanks for taking care of it.I think I'll be reading
which also works for another team challenge. It's #3 in the series.
No worries, I already had all of the info linked and just went with it (it took like all of 5 seconds lol)
I'm going to read
, which is also one of my Dusty Bookshelf selections for this month. Two birds with one stone!
Well, thank you!Theo, that's been on a dusty bookshelf of mine for awhile. Interested to hear how it is.

I'm kinda conflicted after reading this. It's dark which is right up my alley but something was missing. I didn't connect with the characters completely. I do think I'll give book 2 a try and then form my opinion. I'm a fan of dark and messy reads and this fits that criteria. Maybe after another book I'll care about the characters more.

Book three in the series, these two are becoming one of my favorite couples. In this installment the asshole Marcone commissions someone to kidnap Luki's nephew Jackie and boy was that an adventure. It was so hard to read this because Jackie is a victim of sexual abuse by his father, the rape plus trying to find his identity was really emotional. Surprisingly I haven't cried during this series. The guys finally get married and it's beautiful.
I have to change my book. wasn't ready to five back into that series so soon. Will let you know thus afternoon what I'm reading. something quick and easy!
Typing on phones is always a pain!I am reading
#3 in Drakon series
Sorry for the hassle, and no worries - I will be done!
It doesn't look like I'll quite finish tonight, so it will probably be tomorrow night before I'll have the chance to post my review.
Thanks for the update Leslie and Theo :)Well still be in the 1's this next roll, any series anyone is planning on checking out? Each game I've noticed I'll focus on one series and read several from it. Last round I binged on Harry Dresden books. The one before I binged on the Aisling Gray books. I need to look at my TBR and see if there's any I feel like focusing on. Once we get into the 4's I have a feeling I'm gonna OD on the Secret McQueen books lol.

Review:I can't say enough about how much I love Shana Abe's writing style. It just makes me happy. And I thoroughly enjoyed this book though there wasn't a great deal of plot. But it's about dragons and that's really enough for me. The ending is a bit of cliffhanger, however, so I'll be reading the next one pretty quickly!

Review: Marked at birth as the daughter of Death, Ismae Rienne lives a life of brutally until her life takes an unexpected turn. After a brutal beating on her wedding night, she is rescued and sent to the convent of St. Mortain, where she will become the handmaiden of Death. Her final assignment before she can take her vows puts her in the household of Gavriel Duval, an advisor to the young Duchess of Brittany. How will she balance her devotion to Mortain, her loyalty to her country, and the desires of her heart? It's a well-realized world with believable characters. I think it's a great start to a promising series, a bit like Game of Thrones, if Sansa were the only narrator.
Good job team :)Mika were free to roll in a couple of hours. Theo I've got to read that book one of these days.
No matter what you roll we'll have a 1 in our spot so first in a series and standalones will work plus whatever the second digit of our spot and the spots coordinating alternate.

Quick question Jenne, when it says page limit 150, does that mean minimum or maximum?
