Jenne (jennetheinstigator) | 7439 comments Since we have a shot at winning I'm gonna look at my books and find some shorties to have on hand.

Ok so if we roll a 5 we'd be on spot 76, 7th, 6th, or the alternate Did Not Finish

If we roll a 6 we'd be on spot 77 so a 7th or a title starts with T (excluding a, and, the)

Jenne (jennetheinstigator) | 7439 comments I'm reading Wanted Dead or Undead (The Zombie West Series, #1) by Angela Scott for a first in a series.

Tamika♥RBF MOOD♥ | 445 comments Spot 71: Coming Home (Rock Bay, #1) by M.J. O'Shea
3.5 stars
10/23

Review:

M.J. O'Shea books usually leave me depressed. While this one was just meh. I liked enough parts of it. I do have the other two books in the series so I'm going to read those. I liked reformed Tally. I wish we could have seen some of his life when he was in Seattle, as well as Lex as well. What happened after high school. I get the town being mad at Tally, but his mother was a piece of work.

Read Wanted Dead or Undead (The Zombie West Series, #1) by Angela Scott by Angela Scott
Finished: 10/23/14
Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Review:
This was interesting, zombies, romance, and a western lol. Fast paced quick read and I connected with the characters (a must!). I think if you enjoyed Karina Halle's Donners of the Dead, you'd like this. I will be reading more from this series in the new future since not everything was answered about this eclectic makeshift family!

~Leslie~ (akareadingmachine) | 1052 comments I'll be reading Mark of the Demon (Kara Gillian, #1) by Diana Rowland which is #1 in Kara Gillian series. New author for me - we'll see!

**Updated Post **

I changed my book to Born in Blood (The Sentinels, #1) by Alexandra Ivy which is #1 in the Sentinels series.

Jenne (jennetheinstigator) | 7439 comments Those are good but not great, IMO. I'm up to book 4 now. If you're listening to it turn the speed up to 3x lol, the narrator is very slooooow.

message 460: by Theo (new)

Theo | 1929 comments And again, two of you are finished before I even choose my book! I have tomorrow off, so hopefully I won't be too far behind.

I'm going with a 1: The Claiming of Sleeping Beauty (Sleeping Beauty, #1) by A.N. Roquelaure

Jenne (jennetheinstigator) | 7439 comments Lol mine was a shortie. Curious to see your review Theo.

Born in Blood (The Sentinels, #1) by Alexandra Ivy
10/24/14 3.5★

Review: This is the first book in a new series from an author that I like and it started a little slow but by the end I really liked it. The premise was interesting if not terribly original, but I liked her characters and by the middle of the book was completely engaged in the action and in the relationships. The only problem with enjoying a new series is the wait for the next one.

Jenne (jennetheinstigator) | 7439 comments Huge roll for us tonight! If we have a shot at winning I'll stay up and read late.

~Leslie~ (akareadingmachine) | 1052 comments I'm ready!! I'll roll at midnight. What roll do we need to win?

message 466: by ~Leslie~ (new)

~Leslie~ (akareadingmachine) | 1052 comments So I just answered my question I think. It looks like we need a 5 or a 6 in order to have a possible win. And then we need to finish our books first. Am I correct, Jenne?

message 467: by Jenne (new)

Jenne (jennetheinstigator) | 7439 comments Yep, us and 2 and 3 have a shot, the competition will be fierce :)

Read: The Claiming of Sleeping Beauty (Sleeping Beauty, #1) by A.N. Roquelaure by A.N. Roquelaure
Finished: 10/25/14
Rating: 3 stars
Review: I originally picked this up because it was published the year I was born. Of course with the elevation of erotic fiction to best-selling lists, a book like this would see a resurgence, but it had a cult-like following long before the popularity of books like Fifty Shades of Grey. I think for me the appeal comes not from the erotic (which can become a bit repetitive and even silly), but from the subversion of a traditional fairytale structure. The passivity of Sleeping Beauty is explored to a psychological level, where true submission gives her power. Also, the submission is not just for females, but we see princes being dealt with in the exact same ways, and the most powerful character in the book is female (and not in the traditional fairytale sense of an evil witch, who needs to be defeated--in fact, she is the idolized mother of the prince who wakes Beauty up in the first place). If I was reading it just as erotica, I think my rating would have been lower, but because it got me thinking in layers about tradition and gender roles, it redeemed itself a bit.

Jenne (jennetheinstigator) | 7439 comments I found a shortie that fits both possible alternates were on and one book that I really really want to read on the did not finish shelf.

message 473: by ~Leslie~ (new)

~Leslie~ (akareadingmachine) | 1052 comments I found one that I can read pretty quickly. I will roll at midnight and hope for the best. Fingers and toes crossed!

Leslie you still awake? I'll be up so if I see you haven't rolled by 5 after I'll assume you crashed and roll. I plan on staying up and knocking a chunk of not all out of my book =]

Tamika♥RBF MOOD♥ | 445 comments That's fine Leslie, better luck next time.

Reading Divide & Conquer (Cut & Run, #4) by Abigail Roux 4th in a series.

message 483: by Jenne (new)

Jenne (jennetheinstigator) | 7439 comments Ack so close!!! I accidentally fell asleep right before midnight. I'll still read something, you never know they might not finish on time?! Unlikely though.

message 484: by Jenne (new)

Jenne (jennetheinstigator) | 7439 comments I'll be reading the 4th in the transplanted tales.
Btw we don't have to read since team 2 can win, it's totally up to the individual. I am since I feel funny not finishing and I've gotta a BR for that book anyways.

message 485: by ~Leslie~ (new)

~Leslie~ (akareadingmachine) | 1052 comments I have a book set to read, so I'll go ahead also.

Jenne - I'm on #3 in that series, though I haven't read it in awhile.
I checked to see if you had rolled, because I fell asleep then woke up at 12:30. But you hadn't so I went ahead and rolled. Maybe I should've waited :{

I'll be reading Rules For A Proper Governess (MacKenzies & McBrides, #7) by Jennifer Ashley

It's been a really fun challenge!!

message 486: by Jenne (new)

Jenne (jennetheinstigator) | 7439 comments Last time I remember seeing the time it was a few minutes till 12, I woke up at one with my head on my kindle. Checked my phone right quick, saw the roll and just went on to bed lol.

Review: This was a turning point in the series for me. I've been all about Zane in these first few books. Ty definitely steps up in this one. We got to see the beginning for them the love and everything else. This is also where team sidewinder makes there introduction.

message 488: by Theo (new)

Theo | 1929 comments I have a book ready to go, so I'll go ahead and read too. I'll be reading a 7: The Keepsake (Rizzoli & Isles #7) by Tess Gerritsen
