This used to be one of my all time favorite books when I was a kid. I remember I got it from a Hastings when I was around six or seven, and I'm twenty-three now. So that means the book is at least sixteen years old, and maybe older than that. We might have even gotten it second hand, I don't remember for sure??
I also read pretty high up for my age so although I remember it being pretty childish, it might have been for younger teens as well. There was straight up murder in it after all??
It was a short story collection revolving around vampires meant for young kids. I have had absolutely no luck finding it, and I mainly just want to convince myself I'm not crazy because I actually remember most of the short stories pretty well?? I'm sure I'm missing ones. But the problem is that it's so old and the short stories are so...cliche, I guess?? That it's hard to find anything using them as search terms.
The short stories I remember are:
» There was a colony living in space and a vampire somehow got in?? It started killing people and there were investigations and these two kids figured out it was a vampire because there were bite marks on the necks of the victims. I don't remember anything else about that one yikes.
» One of the short stories was called like "Blood Sisters" or something similar. About a group of young girls who go into a "haunted house" on a dare. One of them gets left behind when the group runs away scared and gets turned into a vampire by the owner of the house. She goes to her best friend's who left her behind's house every night trying to convince her to let her in.
» There was one that was just....pretty much a rip off of Interview With A Vampire that was told in transcript format??
» I don't remember for sure but I also think there was one told entirely through dialogue.
» And there was one that involved an energy/psychic vampire set at a summer camp. They kept draining kids of their energy and getting them sent home?? They may have even killed them, I just know that it took place at a summer camp and the vampire ended up sharing a cabin with the kid telling the story.
If you have any ideas please let me know because it's driving me crazy!
