MeganD6 Lara Jean Covey was faced with lots of conflicts in the book P.S I Still Love You. Lara Jean realizes she has fallen for the most popular boy in her school, Peter Kavinsky. She knew there would be challenges with that. So once they start dating she soon realizes she wants her old life back before things got complicated. (60)

Conflict:
In the book P.S I Still Love You readers will find that throughout the book Lara Jean has lots of conflicts or challenges she is faced with. Her boyfriend Peter is one of the main reasons for them. In most of this book she deals with the external conflict man vs man. She has her first real boyfriend ever and she is always focused on the movie and book versions of love stories more than the real life ones. So because of this she deals with trust issues and her expectations of what a boyfriend should be.(40-41) Peter is also still close with his ex-girlfriend Gen which Lara Jean doesnt like. She finds Peter is lying to her about where he is and who he is with which she later finds out it was Gen. When she asks Peter why he is always with her he won’t tell Lara Jean why. As a consequence of this she breaks up with him because she can’t trust him when he is hanging out with Gen and won’t say why except she needs him. (245-249) When Lara Jean starts spying on Gen she finds out her secret that Peter wouldn’t tell her. Lara Jean’s heart breaks for Gen and she feels horrible for what she did to them both and regretted it.(330-331) Towards the end of the book she finds out for herself that she was dealing with an internal conflict man vs self. She learned that she had to find her own way just to trust Peter and know he would never try and hurt her. She thought the whole time Peter and her were together he was still trying to get over Gen, but really it was Lara Jean who needed to get over Gen. She was comparing herself to Gen and in all the ways she didn’t think she would measure up to be enough for him. (335) Because of these problems, Lara Jean learned that make sure you don’t do things you will regret because most of the time you won’t know the whole story or background to the situation. Teens can learn the same lesson Lara Jean learned which is don’t be so quick to judge or assume when you don’t know everything.

Opinion:
When I read the book P.S I Still Love You I had my own opinion about it when I finished, and I loved it! The reason I loved this book was it taught me things that I could use in my own life. The lessons I learned were be honest, learn to trust people for the right reasons, and don't be quick to judge or assume when you don't know the whole story. Lara Jean shows examples of one these reasons when she shows she values honesty in her relationship with Peter. When they first start dating she makes sure that Peter knows that honesty is something that is very important to her. The next one is trust people for the right reasons. Lara Jean wanted to trust Peter but it was hard for her to when he wouldn’t say who it was with or where he was. The last one was don’t be quick to judge or assume when you don’t know the whole story. Lara Jean was quick to judge Peter when he wouldn’t tell her things but she didn’t know the whole story so she regretted what she did and said. I loved this book because of the lessons it can teach a teen. I think it is important for teens to know lessons that can be learned in life today and see how they can be handled so we know the better way to handle situations.
