Fangirl
question
Should I read Carry On?

Okay so I absolutely LOVED Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell (I seriously want to marry Levi). However it ended kind of abruptly, and though I do typically enjoy the whole "the adventure continues" kinda ending, it left me feeling somewhat unsatisfied not getting to see more of Cath and her friends. (Especially Levi. I DESPERATELY need more Levi). Then I heard that Rainbow Rowell had actually written Carry On and published it as an idependent book, and so my question is - is it worth the hype?
I remember reading the short excerpts of the story in Fangirl, and I suppose I liked them, but I was far more interested in what was happening in Cath's actual, physical life. So is Carry On anything like Fangirl, and if not - do any of you know of any similar books?
All answers are appreciated! <3

Honestly, it really depends on the type of books you enjoy. If you enjoyed the love story part of Fangirl I absolutely recommend you read Carry On. When I first read Fangirl, I really wasn't interested in the Carry On excerpts but I decided to give it a chance anyways. Carry On turned out to be one of my favorite books of all time even passing Fangirl, so if you like love stories and books about magic, I definitely recommend this book. Although, this book is written in first point of view from many character and the beginning is a little slow but it's still a really good read. Simon and Baz are amazing characters and I completely fell in love with them plus the sequel comes out this year so it'd be a really good time to read it. I hope this helped in any way :)

Is Carry On very Hogwarts-esque? Is the plot exciting to read, or is it a bit too much like JKR’s world? 😅
Absolutely! I had read Faniel and did wonder if it was necessary but I'm so glad I did! 💕
I thought Carry On was really good but not as good at the little pieces written in Fangirl but still good.

Carry On is absolutely worth reading, it is definitely worth the read. In my personal opinion it is one of the best fantasies out there.

Hello :D I saw this post a little late I guess ^^' But I strugled the same as you after finishing Fangirl.
I see that other people have already responded and I don't know if you have read it until now? But anyway, here my advice:
In case you're searching for more Levi and Cath I wouldn't recommend you to read Carry On. Like it's said it's Cath fanfiction but without any link of Fangirl: you don't see like at the begining of the chapters in fangirl some short text about Cath's life for example! ^^ So it's really "just" the fanfiction. (But actually it had ended up in a trillogy as announced by Rainbow Rowell! :p )
But if you're actually interested in some romance and magical stuff, and want to discover what happens to Simon Snow and Baz... Just go on!!! :D The book is quite good and the story interesting!!! :D I enjoied reading it. Not as much as fangirl but it was definetly a good book! :)
I hope I could help, even when I am a little late on the post ... :$
