For the second question: Who's more pitiful, Amir or Hassan?...Or Both?
I couldn't really decide which one is more pitiful, but if you really compare their situations, Amir deserves mercy and Hassan deserves sympathy. The things that Hassan went through, it tortured him mentally and physically. While Amir was tortured mentally. When Hassan died, it is the most pitiful thing to ever happen in the book. It's really heartbreaking and there are just so much more to know and understand about Hassan. It is only right that Amir has to fix his wrong doings, he risked his life, it is enough to redeem himself, but if only he could also redeem himself by risking his life for Hassan, himself, instead of his son. I sympathize both characters, and they're both really brave, but I chose Hassan.

I would say the're both equally pitiful but Hassan is a bit more pitiful because Amir was lacking attention from Baba and Baba always had it hard on him. Hassan gets the attention but is treated good and bad by Amir. At times, Hassan would get treated like a friend, and the other times, he'd get treated like a servant. I just think it's not fair that you get to be treated as a servant to your father and being treated so cruel from your half brother. But Amir is not to blame as well because he never knew that Hassan was his half brother and all he wanted was Baba's love. He was jealous of how Baba pays more attention to Hassan than him, and Baba doesn't really care for him.
