Breilyn | 3 comments Hello. I am trying to find a book that I read when I was in the fifth grade, around 2005 to 2006. It was a fiction book, maybe horror as well. I cannot remember the title, author, or cover of the book. I can only remember that I had to stop reading it because it was too scary to continue. I am 24 years old now and I have to know how that book ends.

Here is what I can remember: The protagonist, a young girl, lived with her parents and grandmother. If I remember correctly, the parents went out of town and left the girl alone with her grandmother. The grandmother was quite old and was in a wheelchair. In the house, hanging on the hallway of the second floor, they had a painting or portrait of an older man who was once friends with the grandmother. I think there was a discussion of him holding a grudge against the grandmother. One day, the young girl was arriving home and came to find her grandmother, in front of the stairs on the second floor, seconds away from rolling down the stairs. The painting/portrait of the man was pushing her so she would fall down the stairs. The young girl made it just in time to save her grandmother. Eventually, the young girl threw out the painting/portrait. However, again if I remember correctly, the painting/portrait reappeared in the house.

Please note that some of these events might be out of order, but this is all I can remember about this book.

Please help me find it. I really want to know how this book ends.

If you have any questions about the book, I will try my best to answer them.
