Ohhh. Now I can't wait for the next book. It's on hold at the library.I'm going with
. I'll be a little late as the book I'm currently reading is very long - around 900 pages.

Book: The Blood of Olympus by Rick Riordan
Series: The Heroes of Olympus #5
Read date: 11.10.14
Rating: ★★★★
Review:
I couldn't put it down! And when I finally finished it (it was 4am - good thing it's Saturday ☺), I was sorry it's over. Book and series. It could use few more chapters, especially since I have few questions left (mostly what happened to some of the characters later). Maybe like Rowling did in HP - few years later....
This series definitely calls for reread. :P
ROLL #7, SPOT #54Alternative - Title S
Book: Nash by Jay Crownover
Series: Marked Men #4
Date finished: October 10, 2014
Rating: ★★★
Review: The fourth book in the Marked Men series didn't disappoint. This time the focus was on Nash. It is the standard bad boy meets good girl story, but I like it. The characters are great and the plot isn't just a carbon copy of previous books.

Requiem For The Dead by Kelly Meding (Dreg City #5)
Finished: 13 October 2014
Rating: *****
Review:
The latest but hopefully far from last book in what I can safely say has become one of my favourite UF series is another action-packed thrillride that had me turning pages at record speed to see what new twists Kelly Meding had in store for characters and readers alike. With the vampires still suffering from the infection they received at the hands of Thackery, Wyatt struggling with his new half-werewolf side and worrying about the three Lupa teenagers that are still missing, the members of the Felia clan having to deal with Assembly politics and backstabbing, and Chalice Frost's parents in town as an additional complication, Evy and her remaining allies face a number of high stakes challenges that not all of their number will survive - Meding is ruthless as ever when it comes to killing off characters we have come to care about, delivering more well-placed gut punches in an intense, emotional, fast-paced story that as always leaves me eagerly awaiting news of the next book. There'll be a next book, right?!

ROLL #7, SPOT #54Series: Jack Reacher #4
by Lee ChildBook: Running Blind
Series: #4
Date finished: 10/14/14
Rating: 3 stars
Review: I'm very back and forth about Jack Reacher. Sometimes I love him, sometimes I want to slap him in the face. This novel was no different - he started out an ass and improved - with brief forays into jerkishness and honour. The story itself was good with interesting twists and turns. I don't think Lee Child writes female characters very well but he's certainly not the worst in the world. A basically good series which occasionally needs a grain of salt or two added.

Series: #4 in Arcadia Bell series.
Date Finished: 15 Oct
Rating: 4 stars
Review:
A fitting conclusion the series. There were of course, some OTP moments (as present in the series) but overall it was well-done. It tied up everything in neat bows with a sweet epilogue to go. A good UF series. Any more would definitely be a spoiler.
And that is another series completed. One down, zillion more to go.

Book: China Dolls by Lisa See
Alternative: Author S
Date finished: October 18, 2014
Rating: ★★★
Review: This book follows the life of three women - Grace, Ruby and Helen - and their friendship, career, and life in San Francisco starting in 1938. This was a good book with very multifaceted characters, but it wasn't nearly as good as Snow Flower and the Secret Fan.
ROLL #8, SPOT #63Series: The Oregon Files #6
by Clive CusslerBook: Corsair
Series: #6
Date finished: 10/21/14
Rating: 3 stars
Review: I've been reading Clive Cussler since I was a kid - I always wanted to read what my dad was reading. So I have a soft spot for adventure and mystery. This ticks all the boxes for typical Clive Cussler with the added bonus of him writing it after his midlife crisis was over so the MC Juan Cabrillo is much less Mary Sue-ish than good old Dirk Pitt. :) I love the research and history parts of Cussler's novels and it was just the perfect amount in this novel. Good book.

Review:
Fun. But meh. After first two books, this one was little disappointing. I'm not quite sure why.
Hero, escaping from ruffians, falls from a horse and horse is injured. Good new, they landed on heroines land and she know a lot about horses. Bad news, heroine fell from a horse year ago and got really hurt and now is really afraid of horses. Instead to give him another horse and sends him on his way, she insists he stays until his horse is better.
There was no really chemistry between hero and heroine. I didn't even like them that much, or better to say I didn't care about them.
Not even with bad guys sneaking around.
Sorry, just coming off Diwali celebration so I didn't have much time to check in. Good news is I'm done with my book. I'll post my review later tonight.

Sins of the Lost by Linda Poitevin (Grigori Legacy #3)
Finished: 23 October 2014
Rating: *****
Review:
The third book in the Grigori Legacy series is by far the darkest so far. The impending war between Heaven and Hell threatens to wipe out humanity, Seth's choice to give up his powers to be with Alex has dire unforeseen consequences and the inexplicable, short-lived and inevitably deadly pregnancies cropping up all over the world thanks to Lucifer's plan to build a Nephilim army sparks violence against pregnant women as governments remain at a loss to explain the phenomenon. In the middle of it all, homicide cop Alexandra Jarvis, still struggling with the aftermath of Lucifer's assault and her latest barely averted death, just wants to be done with all supernatural interference in the life and attempt to build a relationship with Seth, but nothing is ever that easy. Hard choices have to be made by all the many players in the epic struggle between the realms, and every choice has consequences...
Another amazing and impressive thrillride of a book filled with suspense, wonderfully detailed mythology, deep emotions and plot twists that will leave you breathless, anxiously awaiting the next part.

Review:
The shifter in the book is a gryphon shifter. I'm getting back to this series after a long time - sort of forgot the details in book 2 but didn't impact my reading of this much. The books are loosely connected so that there are some consequences of the events that happened in the previous book. I enjoyed this book and I'm definitely picking up the next if only to read the loose ends.

I'll be reading a stand alone - not 100% sure which one yet, but whatever grabs my interest when I finish work. Probably
though.
Vi wrote: "Is this going to be our last week? I know one other team landed on 75."As I understand it, landing on 75 doesn't work, you have to pass it, but as two other teams passed 75 this round, it should be our last week.

Review: I took the afternoon off because this was supposed to be our last really beautiful Indian Summer day. Instead we've had thunder and lightning which is cool, but not conducive for the canoe trip I had planned. Ah well, reading a mediocre book is almost as good. I've definitely read better by Howard, the characters didn't grab me, there was too much ridiculousness and my eyes are tired from all the rolling they had to do and 10 minutes after I finshed, I'm having trouble remembering any of the plot. Kind of sad this is my last entry for this challenge, but oh well. Next time. :)
This was fun, glad I could drop in and join you in this round, it will definitely not be my last.
