This was on my list of black covers too when I tried to decide what to read. I'm looking forward to hearing your thoughts :)

Wow - what are you getting your doctorate in? Why CO?

If we're all posted by tomorrow night let me know if you want me to roll Amy.

What is he getting his doctorate in?

Nice
did you want me to roll Friday morning at 1am our time?

Thanks will do if everyone's review is in. Believe that only one is in so far.

Much more erotic than I expected and ended way too abruptly since there are 2 more books in the series. Although out of my comfort zone there was a story but didn't like the way it ended, no closure, with violence. Jen really needs to ditch her fiancee since he's all about him and her needs never play into the picture.

this was a great book. I really had higher expectations because i watched the tv series first like an asshat lol! this story is the true story of piper going to jail for a drug crime. It was over 10 years ago and they got her on a statue of limitations. how this book is different from the show is that she got to live a normal life for 6 years before she had to go to jail. where in the show she got picked up and put in jail just like that. I found it humorous when she was talking about her experiences in jail bc i worked at a prison and i can relate to a lot to what she was saying bc i seen it first had.
This story will take you on an emotional journey of a year stay in prison with the ups, down, the funny, and the "WTF" just happen moments! overall it was a great enjoyable read.

While I can’t get enough of this series, this one of Amy and Matt’s story was not one of my favorites. Amy has sworn off men due to her past, and after a disastrous marriage, Matt wants nothing to do with love, until he meets feisty Amy. Amy’s passion includes sketching and living in the same area as her grandmother did years ago. She is also searching for hope and peace in Lucky Harbor. Amy is content with her life until she realizes during one of her hikes what she is truly missing. Matt, aka Hot Buns to the ladies of Lucky Harbor is one fine catch. Of course, all of the characters of Lucky Harbor are present including the quirky Lucille who always ensures that Face Book is updated daily!

I had very high hopes for this book because of all the hype surrounding it. It has sat on my shelf for months and now as the film is coming out I thought it was about time to read it.
If per chance you haven't heard, Gone Girl is a mystery. Nick's beautiful wife Amy goes missing from their home on the day of their 5th anniversary. The story follows Nick after Amy disappears and Amy's diary telling what happened before. Both accounts are very subjective and the reader keeps on wondering how much is true and what is left unsaid.
As a mystery it was incredible. It was just as addictive as everyone said it would be. I stayed up hours past my bedtime reading. The hints were subtle and you just wanted to know what happens next. I loved the unreliable protagonists. They made me feel like a detective trying to get to the truth and weed out the lies. One of the best books I've read this year if not the best.

I will roll tonight.
Off to read a Christmas book.

If the roll isn't done by you or Amy when I get up I'll roll then.
Good night all.

Another fun, fast read in this series. I like both Garrett and Owen together. I did think the coalition was a bit hard on Owen. I liked when Andrews told them what Owen was about. So looking forward to Shane's book.

Very slow start, so much so that I didn't think I'd get through it. It picked up once Lizzie ditched her English boyfriend, Andy, and made her way to France. She and Luke a/k/a Jean-Luc had instant chemistry. Loved the descriptions of the vineyards, the scenery and house and the interesting wedding scenes. Nice closure but a few more chapters or an epilogue would have been the icing on the wedding cake. Since this is the first book in the series I hope we'll meet up with the same characters again.
Cabot is a new to me author and I will give some of her other books a try.

The first book in this series was very good and sad at the same time. It left the reader wondering how Mia and Adam fared once they grew up. Where she went picked up three years after Mia’s tragic car accident that killed her parents and brother told from Adam’s POV. Once Mia left for Julliard, she severed all ties with her boyfriend Adam. Three years later, Mia and Adam happen to be in New York for one day. Adam purchases a ticket to hear Mia play at Carnegie Hall. They spend the night together walking the streets of New York and discussing old times.
While this book was sweet and nice to see Adam and Mia reuniting, it was extremely unrealistic. The book started off slow and didn’t pick up until 75% into it. Only three years has passed, but Adam is a famous rock star and Mia is becoming a renowned Cellist. Both grew up in Oregon so what are the odds of becoming famous so close to graduating from high school. There are only two books to this series and the initial intention was to have If I stay as a stand- alone book. If there were a third book, I highly doubt that I would read it. This book has gotten favorable reviews, but it was one that I just didn’t much care for.

This book is a good read.. It's about monsters, time travel and old pictures.
A boy named Jacob grew up listening to stories from his grandfathers past. Everyone told him it was fake and grandfather was crazy.. Until he saw one..
Doctor after doctor they said Jacob had PTSD.. And it was all in his head until he took a trip to discover truth, mystery, and adventure!

Anna is sent to Paris into a boarding school for one year by her rich father, who thinks it will be a great opportunity to learn about different cultures. Anna is not so sure this year will be as great as everyone else seems to think. She misses her best friend Bridgette and her little brother Sean and the cute co-worker Toph at the movie theatre.
Soon Anna makes new friends, discovers the beauty of Paris and finds herself a little too intrigued by her classmate St. Clair.
This is absolutely lovely young adult love story. I loved the setting in Paris which is one of my favorite cities in the world. I loved the characters and the relationships between them. Everything was so real, wonderful, painful and beautiful.
