I love this series and have been waiting to see what happens with Dalton and Rory.
Dalton has away from home from a few years, but gets called home for an emergency. When Dalton learns Rory is back home, he wants Rory. He let's nothing get in the way of that.
They have a complicated history, but I enjoyed seeing them get their second chance. They have lots of chemistry. I loved how Dalton accepted his past mistakes with Rory and how he went about proving that he is worthy of her heart. I didn't warm up to Rory as much, she had a problem of jumping to the wrong conclusions and assume the worst of Dalton.
All in all a very good instalment in this series. Great visiting the McKay Family. I can't believe there is only one book left.

Spot #5
Then Came You
Completed on 9/1

4 stars
Book 5 in a series (Animal Magnetism)
Actually this is 4 ½ rounded to 4. Then Came you is book 5 in the Animal Magnetism series. So far, this is my favorite one. Although this book centers on Emily and Wyatt, all of the gang is present and accounted for. Emily is a new vet intern and is counting down the days to return to California. She has no desire to stay in the sleepy town of Sunshine, Idaho any longer than she is required to. Her dad is alone and she uses him as a crutch to follow her dreams of working in a vet practice in LA; that is until she sees Wyatt. The first day on the new job brings her and the sexy vet birthing a sheep. Both quickly realize that they had met a few months prior at a vet conference in Reno where they promptly slept together. Assuming that one time was a one night stand, both went their separate ways. Now, Emily has to work closely with the vet and vow to keep her hands off of him.
Jill Shalvis never ceases to let me down on any of her books. The only reason that I gave this book 4 stars rather than 5 was that I thought the ending was rather abrupt. Book 6 is scheduled to be released in April 2015. That sure is a long time to wait!

give the Animal Magnetism a try."
I have only read book 1 in Lucky Harbour series. I plan to get back to that one soon.

I've read up to book 8 in Lucky Harbor and up to book 3 in the Animal Magnetism series - definitely need to get back to them.

If we're all in by deadline let me know if you want me to roll again Friday.

Great - I will finish the book as soon as I'm home from work tonight and then post my review.
Happy rolling and have a good day off!

Review:
Nicholas Falcott, or Lord Nick, a soldier and Marquess of Blackdown leads his cavalry division into a charge, his horse is shot and falls down, taking him with it. He sees the saber lifted high about to come down and then nothing. He wakes up in a room with too bright lights and there is an odd man sitting by his bed. He has woken up in a hospital in London and the year is 2003. At least that's what the odd man tells him. Almost 200 years has passed. His family is dead. Everyone he knew are dead. He is told that he is now member of The Guild and can never return to his home country. Only thing he has left from 1812 is his signet ring and his memories.
The Guild takes care of him, teaches him the ways of this new era, gives him more than enough money to survive. Only thing he has to do is to abide by the rules of The Guild. There is no return. There is no return. Tell no one. Uphold the rules.
Nick doesn't mind the rules as long as he can keep living his new life. He doesn't really enjoy it much, but it is what it is. Then The Guild summons him. He is to break the rules of The Guild and return.
It's been a while since I have read fantasy and I'll be honest it took me a while to get into the story. At first I didn't really identify at all with the main character Nick. I was feeling very ambivalent about him and that made me not care so much what happened to him.
There was also a lot of background information crammed into the first chapter or two. Everything made sense later in the book, but I didn't quite digest any of it until it became relevant again.
However once the story really got going, I was hooked. I liked the style of writing and the characters too. I eventually got to like Nick as well, although he seemed a bit arrogant and boring at first.
All in all I really enjoyed this one.

Review
Since I haven't read book 1 in the series, The Turncoat, I thought I might be at a disadvantage to mesh with the story but I wasn't. The story takes place during the Revolutionary War and is centered in MA - areas and sites that I've been to - Boston including the harbor and Fanueil Hall, Salem, Marblehead and others. There were a lot of characters fighting on both sides. There were pirates, soldiers, spies, lots of intrigue, action and suspense as well as a steamy side to the story. All were interspersed with historical facts and locations.
I couldn't help but root for Sarah Ward and her family as well as James Sparhawk who is in the British Navy. There was a happily ever after amongst all the turmoil.
I look forward to reading more books in this series - including the first book.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. It was a sweet and super sexy romance. I loved both the hero and heroine. Great supporting characters. I liked the relationship between Marcos and his cousin Chuito. Some fun moments from Marcos' Aunt. I'm looking forward to Chuito's book next and hopefully Tino and Nova's books to come.

I try to but other stuff always get in the way - this morning it was grocery shopping and now I'm on my second load of laundry. It's a beautiful day here with the sun shining and low temps - only in the 70's - so I've caught myself drowsing off a bit too.

Magic Bites
Review:
3.5 stars – Rounded to 3
At first glimpse, Kate is an ordinary human surrounded by not so ordinary beings. She does have special talents that will help her in capturing her guardian’s killer.
This was confusing to me at first - new world = new words. The first few chapters the storyline was all over the place and difficult to keep up. This book is also labeled as PNR romance, and actually, there was no romance at all. I am going to continue with book 2 as I’ve been told that the series gets better starting in 3. I can see that I will like Curran and possibly Kate. At the moment, Kate does very little for me and she is the heroine! In deference to the author, I am not a huge fan of magic or urban fantasy plots so this simply may not be the series for me.

I'm in no hurry to read book 2!
