What book would you like to see be turned into a movie or tv show next?

Both excellent choices.

Haha that would be something! Idk if it's controversial so much as very unlikely. Hollywood isn't known for its originality.

I suppose at least we’re getting stuff like the Lovecraft Country adaptation. I would really like it if there were more adaptations of modern stuff, and less rehashing of Tolkien, Lewis etc.

I second Remnant population, but for the sake of the story, I am not concerned about actress.
One of my favourite series, Foundation, is already seeing the light of day. I really hope it doesn't end being more glitz than substance, as the trailer indicates:(
I would love to see Imperial Radch: 3 Book Series or Red Rising as a series and the The Invincible as a movie or short miniseries.

I prominent director with a big budget can do these things but too often, they fall flat. (Waiting to see what happens with 'Three Body Problem'

Julian May's Pleosciene saga would tickle my fancy.

Legends of the Dragonrealm is a great series and would love to see that on screen but post GoT that would probably be a hard sell.
The Age of Five series by Trudi Canavan would be something i would check out if it was done right (the million dollar issue with most of the adaptations these days).

OOOH good suggestion! I can absolutely see either Netflix or HBO doing that - and am now eagerly praying for it!

I'm really excited about a bunch of things that are supposedly already in the works: The Broken Earth Trilogy: The Fifth Season / The Obelisk Gate / The Stone Sky, Wild Seed, Lilith's Brood, and The Three-Body Problem.
I've been wondering if Murderbot could be adapted to the screen? I love Murderbot except that the setting is always difficult to visualize and there is too much internal technical dialogue. But I'm not sure how Murderbot's adorable personality would still be effectively portrayed.
Gideon the Ninth would be interesting! It is such a visual book already. My only fear is that it would ruin the book.

Julian May's Pl..."
Oh I agree that would be !!

That would be awesome. For the sake of cost, it might have to be done in an animated style.

Unfortunately, but I would love to see it if it is done right. It was a great book.

I do, would be more excited if I had Apple TV, hope they can do something worthwhile with it since I enjoyed the Foundation Trilogy.

they are making a film of the first book. I am a little unsure if the series unique way of storytelling can be adapted though

Mistborn series - movies
The Divine Cities series - movies
wool - tv show

That would be cool to see. I loved the magic system in that series.

I do find one difference between Game of Thrones and Amber in regards to the characters though. Game of Thrones had a good dozen or so characters that you could relate to and cared about. In Amber it was one.
The Amber Series did provide me with some fantastic D and D ideas when I was in High School though.

I think the Amber series was the first example of Calling Cards I can think of.

Also hollywood and tv have this annoying habit of drawing things out way longer than they need to be, if they made more faithful adaptations we might be happy with a season-long series of certain books like Mysterious Benedict Society or the Matched series. If my favorite books get adapted I would prefer limited series not movies because i hate that "part one part two" thing and an entire 5 season series would be too much so I think mini-series or just one season would be cool.

and I just read one, The Hurricane Code that I think would make a good Cli-Fi film.

Also interested in seeing another one of my recent series I have read turn into three movies, perhaps a show I haven't decided. But ideally three movies based on J.M Coetzee's Chidhood, Schooldays and Death of Jesus. It would be hard for any movie to capture all of the wonderment of what he does philosophically, but someone can try to capture it on film!

As I understand it the Dragon Rider books are already being worked on for a movie, but that has been going on for a while.

That could be a good thing. Depending on who is putting it together.

Awesome idea. since it's a franchise that few remember. In the late 70s, Tolkien was my intro to Fantasy and John Christopher was my intro to SciFi.

(Oh, I just found out that there is going to be another Percy Jackson series with Disney+. I hope they do it ok.)

Also The First Law in the hands of David Fincher could be good, of course I’m borrowing from Daniel
Greene here....
