Tijan Q/A

My questions are the boring ones: How do you come up with a new sexy alpha male for each book??
And how hard is it to choose the cover for your books when you have a mental picture in your mind of what he looks like??

I am always interested in what authors read, so my questions are:
- Are you a reader? And have you always been a reader? Surprisingly to me, some authors do not read for pleasure.
- If you were a young reader, what's a book from childhood that you enjoyed? Do you reread it? Has it stood the test of age?
- What's a recent book you have read that you particularly liked? What is is about the book that you liked?
- Do you read classic literature? Do you have a favourite author or book?
And some fun stuff:
- Your favourite colour?
- Any hair disasters in your past - be it cut or colour?
- One of your dream holiday destinations?
- Sweet or savoury foods? Do you have a favourite meal? Can you/ do you like to cook?

- What is one thing people would be surprised to know about you?

I am such a big fan of yours. I have almost read of all your books now! Cole was amazing! I just finished Original Crowd. My ALL time favorite is Fallen Crest.♥️.
My questions are:
What or who inspired Fallen Crest? Did it just start with one and ended up with 6+
What is your favorite book that you wrote?
I would like to know what another person asked - do you like to read too? If so who do you like?
I have so many questions but you have other people on here too 😊
Thanks so much for all your amazing ideas!

My dear Tijan, I love your work so much!!!! I have read many books of yours and i love them all, but for an unknown reason, i will always keep in my heart my first of yours... A whole new crowd.... Even though i loved almost everything...
Well, i think i have million questions for you, but i will try to not bore you to death!!!! But before that, i would like to thank you for Cole!!! I enjoyed it very much!!!! Not as much as Bennett Mafia, who made me crazy, but very close...
So here are my questions for you...
I still haven't read Carter Reed duet, but as he had a big appearance in here, I'm wondering if in his book we will meet also Cole as he used to be before becoming the head of the family!!!!
I'm wondering about the book Original crowd... There are differences in there or is it the same as A whole New crowd???
There will be in the future another mafia book of yours??? Maybe some of the Bennett members??? I'm just saying!!!! LOL.
I'm embarrassed to say that even i loved very much FCH, i haven't complete the series.... For a reason, i have stuck in the middle of Fallen Crest University.... But eventually, i will finish them, i promise!!!
So, my question is... Can i read The boy I grew up with without finishing the series??? Or do i have to wait???
And I'm really wondering about Crossover??? Can you give me more infos about it??
I haven't read Crew yet, but i was wondering if the second book will have the same main characters as the first one????
Well, that's all!!!! Bahahaha.... I'm so sorry if i got you tired with my bumbling!!!! I just really love your writing!!!! Imagine that I'm keeping unread book for the moments that i stuck!!!!
I can't not tell you also that i believe that lately your writing had matured and i love to witness it!!!! Thank you again for these wonderful stories and keep up the good work!!!!

I’ve just read the Bennett Mafia & I absolutely loved it! I love mafia novels with a strong heroine having said that have you thought of writing any more Mafia novels?
Also where do you get your inspiration from?
Who are your favorite authors and which mafia novel is your favorite?
I’ve not read all your books but I’ve read quite a few n I love your writing style they way so describe everything so precisely it’s so intriguing that I never loose interest! Looking forward to read more of your masterpieces.
And if u don’t mind please feel free to suggest any book that has an alpha male ;)
Much Love,
Suroor

Questions: What was the first story you had stuck in your head? Could you always tell you wanted to be a writer? What inspires you to write? Do you have a system for birthing new ideas? Who is one of your favorite authors? Are you a bookworm?
Thank you for letting us have a peek into your wonderous brain. Much love, Gail

First of all, I want to tell you how much I loved your Fallen Crest Series. I just love your writing.
Also, Q: Are you planning to do any book signing events in the future?
Hey everyone!! I was so nervous there'd be no questions for me!! Whoop. Morning. How's everyone's Monday so far? I have a few things to take care of this am, then I'll be back in to answer any and all questions. See you then! Keep the questions coming.

Tijan! Alrighty, here goes one. How hard is it to transition from one character's mind frame to another for each book? To write so intensely you must get 'trapped' in their brain from time to time lol.

I go with who I am 'feeling' for that book. For the most part, I really let the characters write themselves. I really try and make sure each guy has a different 'vibe' to them so they're more individual, if that makes sense.
And with covers, I'm different because I don't 'picture' the characters in my head. I go with how they 'feel' so finding an image that matches what's in my head isn't really how I pick the covers. Because I design most of my own covers, I usually just play around and nitpick etc until something hits me and then I know that's the cover to use. If I'm torn, I tend to go with my gut whether it's right or wrong. lol

ALWAYS! I grew up being a booknerd. My friends would go to recess outside and I'd go to the library, hole up in an aisle and read the whole time. My parents worried I spent too much time reading, but it seems to have worked out.
There are sometimes when I struggle finding something that I enjoy reading, but that's usually a signal that I need to be writing and not reading. I recently when on a huge reading binge. I think I read sixty books over a period of a couple weeks. I'd read 2 a night and yes, I was up super late for those nights. lol!

I've not reread recently, but it's so funny you asked this because I recently did see a book on Amazon that was a big go-to for me. Rides with the Wind...? Title might be a little off, but I didn't buy the ebook. I want to find the paperback. I know I have it with me.

Um.. I'm thinking.. There's been a lot. I really enjoyed Tina Reber's Unscripted series. And why: I just really liked the length of the books, that we got 'meat' in there (and I don't mean that in a sexual way.) I'm not really one that stops and analyzing why I enjoy a book. I just do!
Favorite authors: Tolkien (for your literature question) Debra Anastasia, Jennifer Armentrout, Helena Hunting, Susan EE, Mariana Zapata!

- Any hair disasters in your past - be it cut or colour? ...oh gosh... not yet??
- One of your dream holiday destinations? ... I don't know. Somewhere with family and my dog. Lots of dogs.
- Sweet or savoury foods? Do you have a favourite meal? Can you/ do you like to cook? Both/Ceasar salad/I do like to cook, but I actually don't cook that often anymore. ... maybe I should?!

Nova wrote: "I honestly love all of your books but where did the idea for Ryan’s Bed appear from and did it make you emotional to write?"
I honestly really don't know. I was asked by my agent is I had a new YA idea in my head and I said no. Fast forward a couple weeks and I literally wrote that first chapter out of nowhere and I got the chills. I read it over and over and over again.
It took me about a year to work on. I wrote nine chapters, then hit pause because I felt like I needed more time or something before moving forward. When I returned to it, I took my time again. It wasn't a book that I felt like I could write it fast and I was glad i took my time.
It was very very very emotional for me! I was crying everytime I wrote it towards the end. Phew!! Now you guys have to feel the emotions. LOL

Eva wrote: "Hi, I was wondering when you get your inspiration from and what is your favorite trope to write and read?"
I have no idea! I never do. Inspiration will randomly hit me. An idea. A feeling. A message I want to get out in the world. or even just driving through an intersection. For real. That's how I thought of the beginning of Cole.
I don't really think about tropes either, so I'll just say I enjoy young adult, paranormal, new adult, and celebrity-romance!
You?!

I usually say Davy from Davy Harwood because I'd love to be able to fly, but I don't know if she was able to fly at the end of her series. Let's pretend she was! lol

Um.... I have no clue. Maybe that itself. I like to do as little 'thinking' as I can and I'm a big one on 'feeling' my way through things.

Cole, try Bennett Mafia now since it's my only one in Kindle Unlimited (if you use that.) Um... Fallen Crest High is a big seller for me. Ryan's Bed! Home Tears. Any of those! Antistepbrother did really well too.
And I HOPE YOU ENJOY!!

My question may have already been asked as well but I was curious if you draw on personal experiences to develop your characters and the story lines?
Thanks.

I love almost all of your books! My questions I have are:
-What was the hardest story you’ve written? Why was it hard?
-Who are your author inspirations? Do you look up to anyone?
-Which character do you relate to most?
-Any advice to give someone who is aspiring to be an author?

Is there a genre that you haven’t written that you’ve always wanted to write?
Where is your favorite place to write?
And if you weren’t an amazing author where would you be in this world right now?
Thanks for your amazing writing. You are one of the only authors that I have continued to follow even with breaks between writing.

Hello Tijan

Carter Reed
Was the first book that I ever read
from you and I've been hooked ever since
I've read just about everything you write
your one of my many favorite authors.
🥰😘😍🥰😘😍🥰😘😍🥰😘😍

I just finished Bennett Mafia, and absolutely loved it! Tanner was one of my favorite characters in it. I feel like he is different than any other character that you’ve ever written.
1- have you ever wrote anyone like him before?
2- will/could he get his own book in the future?
I am so intrigued by him. There is so much there, and I am just obsessed with what could be going on in his brain.
Btw, your writing is on point! It just gets better and better! I can’t wait to see what you come up with next.
I love you long time.

I loved Bad Boy Brody . The story was beautiful and very different from what you usually write. Just wondering if you plan on writing more about Morgan's family or something similar.?
Anyone who asks a question will be automatically entered to win a signed paperback from me!! Questions can be about anything.
