Nifty to get an invite for this! Avid reader but new to Goodreads and groups. I'll read through for everyone's recommendations, but here's my question - may be answered elsewhere: I'm new to your work. As the author, which book is your favorite, and if it's not at the beginning of a series, where's the best place to start? Thanks for your thoughts in the group!

message 52: by Crissy (new)

Crissy Hi Tijan! First I want to say I enjoy your books so thanks for writing stories that I can relate to and also enjoy during any time of the day & year. Out of all the books you have written was there a character that you found was the hardest to write about or a character that touched you the most? Also, I'm sure you get the chance to read from time to time, so if you could recommend one author who would it be?

Antonella's book world (antonellasbookworld) | 12 comments Hi Tijan!!
First of all, I want to tell you I love your books, all of them! The Fallen Crest series is one of my favourite series ever and this is said by an avid reader who has already read thousands of books!
I have a few questions I would like you to answer:
-What's your inspiration? I would love to know since you have written so many amazing books!
-About the Fallen Crest, how many books were you planning to write in the series at the beginning? DId you already know how would have ended or you just went with the flow?
-Are you planning to write other awesome series as the Fallen Crest one (and the Jaded one!)? Do we have to expect them soon or we have to wait?
Love you Tijan!

Honestly, I don't even remember what or who inspired Fallen Crest. I remember hearing Sail by AWOLNATION and I outlined Fallen Crest High over the next three days. I just started with the first book and that was it. I was new, so I didn't really know what I was doing. Then an agent asked for an outline for a sequel, so there you go. I decided to write Fallen Crest Family and kept going from there.

What is your favorite book that you wrote? I actually don't have one right now!

I would like to know what another person asked - do you like to read too? If so who do you like? I enjoy reading Debra Anastasia, Mariana Zapata, Helena Hunting, Penelope Douglas!

For sure!! I totally indulged with Brody (which I wrote about at the end.) I have another type of book like theirs planned, but I don't know when I will get to it. I'm completely booked with projects through next summer.

I can't really tell you about Carter's book. :( You'll have to read it, to be honest.

Yes, there are differences between The Original Crowd and A Whole New Crowd. If you go and read the description for TOC, I have it all written there!!

I'm not sure about another mafia book. Right now, I'm just focused on trying to clear some of the books off the list I have. It's growing. I'm booked with projects for two years.

Um, well... there's a small spoiler, but to me, it's not a big one. I've had people in my reader group read Heather/Channing's book without reading FC and they said it was fine.

Crossover is what I have written in the description. There's really no other way to say it. It's just a meeting of some of my characters.

And yes, same characters for Crew!

Inspiration is from anything!
I'm trying to answer what I've not answered already so... I'm not sure about another mafia book. And I think Bennett Mafia is my favorite one to write.

Recommendation for another alpha male: I'd go with Mason with Fallen Crest Series!

All of them! lol No joke.
I want to write books for Cord, Elijah, almost everyone. Shane Chen (from a series that no one can read anymore.) But finding the time and if the characters are actually speaking to me is the problem. Most those guys are happy and not speaking up, and I tend to go with what is speaking to me. If that makes sense?

Yes. Elijah is one I really want to write. It's just finding the time. I'm doing two series right now, Crew and one you guys don't know about, but I really want to write Eliijah.

Though, fair warning, he does not care about rules or following them. He truly doesn't give a shit so I'm excited to write about that.

Will we ever see more Alex and Jesse? B&S is one of my favorite series and though a lot of questions got answered in the second book part of me still feels like their story isn't done yet.
At one point you had toyed with giving the characters in fighter a full novel, is this still something you'd like to do? I found Dale to be different then a lot of your other female characters and would be curious as to where you take her.

Yes! Well sometimes. It's hard if I'm writing one book, editing another, and working on promotion for a third then I get a question from someone about a book I wrote three years ago. LOL! I try not to get pulled out of the current books, but sometimes it's hard. I can be difficult. -What was the hardest story you’ve written? Why was it hard?

It was emotionally hard writing Ryan's Bed and the reason was the subject matter. It was difficult writing Sustain because I was getting feedback from people I shouldn't have been. They got in my head and were hurtful to my writing. It took a little bit, but I cleared it out and came back stronger. Or I think anyways.

-Who are your author inspirations? Do you look up to anyone?
I'm not really like that. I just write, and write, and write, and write. That's all I do. There's no one I really want to be like as a writer. Personally, though is different. I'd love to be friends with EL James and I'd love to have a drink with JK Rowling. Author dreams!!

-Any advice to give someone who is aspiring to be an author?
I actually have some advice written out on my website. Head there and it's on the home screen. Otherwise, just write for yourself. Keep your head down and go your own lane.
