Fantasy, Wizard in a world of magicians, goddes of magic

So this is going to be extremely vague and formulaic, but after searching my amazon account for the past 4 years I cant seem to find a series I started. Long and short is

Kid finds he has magic, goes to capital, magicians that run out of power completely die, he get poisoned by the corrupt church and loses all his power, doesnt die, hes a wizard(harry!) And he regenerates all his power, Gets involved with the only other resident of his tower(female of course) And we have vague pronouncements by the goddess of magic telling other wizards about his specialness(cliche amiright?) I read this around 2015-2016ish timeline.

Anyway, I think I was 2 books deep into that series and I've been itching to read the rest now, but cannot find it anywhere, any help would be amazingly appreciated
