Review:
This is the 5th book in the series and mildly entertaining. It was less complicated than some of the previous installments and the mystery was rather easily solved. There were also less unbelievable hi-jinks involved as well. I didn't spend as much of my reading time rolling my eyes and did actually chuckle out loud once or twice. I have one more to finish the series and will probably do so just to be done.

It's not too late. Just make a new post. =)

ETA: Just in case anyone is curious, you have until the next category is announced to change your book. Once the next theme is out, your choice is locked in and you can't change it.

Felix and the Prince (Forever Wilde, #2) by Lucy Lennox Felix and the Prince
Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐
Review:
A modern day fairytale, unbelievable and way OTT but so cute! :)

Felix Wilde is fascinated with stained glass. When he gets the chance, he travels from his hometown Hobbie, Texas to the island Gadleigh in Europe. There he stays at Gadleigh Castle to enhance his research about the famous Gadleigh Glass and to finish his dissertation.
Prince Lio retreats for a short time to Gadleigh Castle to gather his strength before he has to take over his role as the King. When he meets there the beautiful stranger Felix, it's a welcome surprise that Felix isn't familiar with the royal family and doesn't know who Lio actually is.
Between the two is instantly an attraction, the sparks fly and the fairytale enfolds.

A typical Lucy Lennox story, a light, charming entertainment. I really enjoyed this sweet story. But well, it's so sweet you should enjoy these books only in small doses. ;)

I listened to the audio and once again the narrator Michael Pauley did an amazing job.

Empire of Ivory by Naomi Novik
Empire of Ivory (Temeraire, #4) by Naomi Novik

Read: (3/7)

Rating: ★★★★½

I do really enjoy this series. There are such fun historical elements in this story. I liked that we got to go back to Africa and see more of the continent. I enjoyed the African storyline and the dragons/ancestors there. It played with with the slave trade prevalent at the time and the historical events that took place as well.

Of course Temeraire is still as wonderful as always. I love his concern for his other dragon friends and their illness. He's so sweetly innocent and smart at the same time. The ending of this story of course is just enough of a cliffhanger to have me worried about reading the next story. I get all twitchy when things aren't happy and smooth sailing. I'm going to be nervous going into the next story as I want things to be good for Laurence and Temeraire, but I'm going to have to read it soon to find out.

Book: Death of a Bachelor

Read 3/11, 5 Stars

M.A. Hinkle drew me right in with a terrific set up between Cathal and Damon, and then continued to tug on my heartstrings through the whole thing. A slow-burn romance of the best kind, where we know they've gotta get together? And we look for clues through the whole story... and constantly wondering, "will this be the time they finally get together?" It was perfect.

Review: I liked this installment in the Royally series better than the first. Henry and Sarah are just hopelessly in loved with one another. Review:
Received an ARC from the author in exchange for an honest review

What I'm about to say is in no way a bad thing (or at least like 99% not bad), but this book reminds me so much of Frog which is one of my most re-read books. It's not a copy, but it's in a similar vein. "Manny", charms everyone who comes in contact with him, amazing with children etc etc. Brann gives Weber a run for his money. That's all I'm saying. Like Frog, I loved this story. I really liked the children, which is not an easy thing for an author to make happen. I could've down without the business intrigue subplot but it's so minor it's almost an afterthought until the end. I really appreciate that the fiance isn't a villain and that that relationship isn't made into something more than it was. I had a harder time Emery to be honest. He makes up for it at the end, but for a lot of the book I was like Brann...I was wondering what the h-e-double-hockey-sticks was going on in Emery's head. It's not that he did anything bad, but he was just acting one way and seemed to not realize how he was playing with Brann's emotions and leading him on even if it was unconsciously. He wasn't a jerk or mean, but he was touchy and flirty and I just wanted to shake him and say OPEN YOUR EYES HELLO. But he's a good guy, and a good dad. And once he woke up he was all in and made no bones about it. I did enjoy them as a couple together. I'll happily continue the series.

I had a hard time reading this book a few years ago due to all the technical information, and the fact that it is an incredibly slow burn. If you're into space exploration stories you'll love this one.

When the two men finally get together the chemistry is great and I can see why everyone recommends this one so highly.

What got me through was Greg Boudreaux's extremely pleasant voice. He made it incredibly easy.

Review:
I have mixed feelings about this book/series. It's not as good as the Sinners series, I'm not connecting with the band members or women as well. I think it might be the serialization feel since it's a long series with each band member getting a book in order. So I'm on the second book for each but since there are 5 members, it's been a long time since I read the first one and now I feel both disconnected and like I've read this before. The books happen somewhat concurrently, so we are reading some scenes or events from that book's band member's pov, so some repetition which feels weird because at the same time I don't feel totally connected to the current H or h. Anyway, things are really in an uproar right now in the larger story arc with only one more book published but 5 more planned but not on the horizon, so I don't feel like we're going to get resolution which will make me mad. As far as this book specifically, I felt the h was a bit wishy washy but I did like how she didn't allow herself to feel threatened by the pregnant groupie. And I did like how Owen didn't allow himself to be (overly) distracted by the pregnant groupie - who I'l like to see go away. Can't get a feel about her at all.

This was a better installment in the series I think than the previous one. Still it was a bit over the top at times and well I wanted to smack both men through the first half of the story and just scream, TALK TO EACH OTHER!

Still it was entertaining in the spy games. There wasn't anything really unique or super twisty about what happens in this story. It was pretty clear cut what was going on and it was really just seeing how it would all play out. I will say though, not a huge fan of Sam's dad. :-p

All in all it's a good continuation of the series and I look forward to reading the next book.

The world in this series just keeps getting more and more complicated... I admit I'm having a bit of trouble keeping it all straight. But I still love the basic bones of each story - paranormal alpha male who falls for his mate in distress. What is kind of fun is that the males don't fight it but the females tend to, until they don't anymore. I also enjoy the bits we get of Levet in each book. I can't wait to get to his book and get to know his full back story and who will bring him to his knees, so to speak. Cute little ugly gargoyle.

*Received ARC via NetGalley*

I LOVED everything about this book. It's my first time reading this author (yes, it's the second in the series, I'll be reading the first one ASAP), and I'm kind of worried that no other book by her will live up to this. Everything about this story worked for me. I loved the characters. I loved the dynamic. I enjoyed the way they developed their relationship as the book went on. I loved that it covered nearly a decade. I loved that we see the relationship from the start. Ilya is a snarky cocky little shirt. I love him so much. He's not a jerk though, at all. He's just self assured. Shane is less snarky and cocky but just as confident, at least in his hockey skills. But Ilya throws every thing else he thought about himself out of wack. I really liked that the "angst" wasn't angsty. It wasn't dark. He was baffled and resistant to see a new side of himself, but he wasn't angry or depressed over it. The dynamic between Ilya and Shane was EV.ER.Y.TH.ING. It was fun and competitive and snarky and it never gets mean. It's just two rivals who respect each other and fall in love. I love how their being in love never softens the rivalry. They are the best and they love beating each other, fairly. I was curious how it would end up working out, like the logistics of them being together, with their careers etc. And I'm pretty happy with how it ends up. I like it better than a magic ribbon tying up everything in a nifty bow.

This is the first time reading this author. It was a nice, mostly sweet start of a series. Nothing earth shattering happening, somewhat predictable but still pleasant. The characters were exactly how they should be. I did get a little peeved at the heroine when she got angry with the hero because he didn't change his life plans based on the current involvement at the time. (view spoiler) She did recognize the irrationality of that, so that saved her. I will continue the series as it sounds like an interesting family to get to know and maybe there will be more depth in future books.
