Rating: ****
Review: So far I've enjoyed all of Amy Lane's books and this is not the exception. This book focuses on the mystery side of the storage and the plot works. I loved both Ellery and Jackson both individually and as a couple and I look forward to the next book in the series.

Mary-Megan | 2325 comments I finally got my book for this week. I don't think I'll have it done by Friday, but I got it and am working on it :-) Hopefully the next theme called is one I already have a book on hand for. In fact, I have to review a book for my job in the next few weeks, so I'm really hoping one of three themes is called so I can kill two birds with one book.

It's a different book but thanks. If I didn't find this book as an e-book I would have kept the book I asked the question about. I deleted the question because I found this one. It's good to know, though, that I probably could have used it. Thanks.

Review: Overall, this was a great conclusion to the series, and I have to admit I got a little misty eyed in the end. I was a little irritated with Piper in the beginning when she kept trusting the Commander, even though his story kept changing every few pages. I like that it ended with a chance of two potential spin-offs (I know for sure there is one), and I would really like to be able to check in with the younger boys when they grow up.

Imitation in Death (In Death, #17) by J.D. Robb Imitation in Death
Finished: 4/7/19 - 4 Stars

Review: This was another fun addition to a great series. It was interesting seeing the references to serial killers of the past (both real-life and fictional). As usual for me though the bests parts were the peripheral stories - the potential advancement of Peabody's career, Somerset's vacation (and return), and of course Eve's next step toward recovering from and/or moving beyond the horrors of her past. Susan Ericksen's narration was amazing as usual...if there's a more talented audiobook narrator out there, I can't imagine who it would be - as talented maybe, but not MORE talented!

Review: This was a cute story willed with plenty of quirky, lovable characters. The romance feels secondary to the other drama like Frankie learning to stand up to her parents and this personal vendetta with someone in town. Frankie and interim sheriff seem to have met before and given her love’em and leave’em history she’s not sure how to move forward with him in town. They’re cute together but I didn’t feel a lot of romance or chemistry. Still it was an enjoyable book. I like the characters and everyone getting their happy endings.

I enjoyed this one. I liked the way that Cat and Reese interacted in the beginning. And I liked the way that they kept some part of that throughout the relationship in the book. Having Reese's case be the backdrop of that added a very interesting element. And then the fact that Joe Arden and Erin Mallon were narrating, I really had a good time listening to this one.

My only complaint is that with the security guys and their wives, I know I must be missing something. They must have a story/series before this one that I missed out on and I hate knowing that I'm missing something. So, I'm going to have to go and figure out where that series is and read/listen to that too.

Review: The is your classic surprise pregnancy romance. It was a one night stand and she didn’t know he was a professional athlete. When she makes the connection and let’s him know she’s pregnant, he flips out and thinks she set him. That’s when my opinion of him went down because he was a complete jerk for next few chapters. I’ll admit he has issues because he was abandoned as a baby, but he was a jerk, even with his need for her physically. Things get better and he’s a bit more likeable come the end. Overall I liked the book. This was the third book in a series but the first I read. I’ll definitely look into the others.

Wow that was really good. Not perfect but close. Such an interesting world and characters. The magic and the folklore. It was really awesome. This is my first foray into "Cli-fic" (I didn't even know there was a genre of book referred to as that before doing the 2019 Pop Sugar Challenge) and I'm not sure if this is heavy in the "Cli-fic" genre but it's kind of like a dystopian novel where the disaster was a due to a climate change type of catastrophe. In the case of this book it was "the big flood", and it's made the world a lot more isolated that it now because there is no more internet and social media and the things that bring our world so close together nowadays. So, I thought that added an interesting element to the story.

I really felt for Maggie and all that she had lost. It was sad to see how much she was alone and a lot of due to her own doing. But, I definitely felt a glimmer of hope there by the end. I really hope the next book has better things for her.

And yes, I'm definitely going to continue on the series. This book was too good not to!

Review - It's been several years since I read the first book in the series, but it didn't matter. The book dealt with some heavy topics, especially the long-term effects of abuse. I thought it was handled very well and I really liked both Remi and Jake. I thought the D/s relationship was too fast considering Remi's history, but it worked out well. I'm looking forward to the next book in the series.

Ruthless Game (GhostWalkers, #9) by Christine Feehan Ruthless Game
Finished: 4/14/19 - 3 Stars

Review: I think I've hit the end of the line with this series. I really enjoyed the first few, but they've gone downhill for me once they veered away from the original GhostWalker group - not because there's anything wrong with the stories, but I just don't connect with the characters as much. The one thing I did appreciate about this one is that it brought out the fact that the MCs were attracted to each other before Dr. Whitney "paired" them, so at least they knew their feelings weren't just based on the experiments of a mad scientist. Other than that it was just more of the same to me...nothing wrong with it, but nothing special either.

Review: This was a cute read about a socially awkward (autistic) woman who hires an escort to help her get more comfortable with sex and relationships. Of course they fall in love but have to figure out if it is real or just because she’s paying him. I enjoyed the premise and each character had their flaws to work through. It was nice to see an autistic character portrayed but it seemed like her autistic characteristics went away fairly easily. It seemed just a smidge too easy. I also found there a bit to much sex. Yes, I understand this book is all about her getting comfortable with sex but I could have done with a little less. That’s just a personal preference, though. Overall I enjoyed the story. There’s a second book and I’m curious.
