I am looking for a book in English, kind of sinister and scary, on a pregnancy that goes on and on. Should be before the 1990s... Please help!

It was sort of para-normal. Defenetly fiction. I am not sure there was really an explenation for why the pregnancy went on, much more than 9 months...

I don't know if the pregnancy lasted longer than normal, though. Was the woman in the story pregnant with an evil baby, like the Antichrist?

I cant remember if the baby was evil. But there was something strange about it. I think it developed in the womb like a child - maybe started talking etc...

Was it more of a horror type book then?

Kind of horror, I guess. But not like monster/zombie/vampire stuff.

Long shot but just throwing it out there- There is a short story by Orson Scott Card called "The Elephants of Pozan" and a pregnancy that goes on and on.
