Do you think Snape regrets doing all those mean things to Harry?

He's dead, so, no.

I do feel Professor Snape disliked Harry because of his negative feelings towards James Porter. However, he pushed Harry to toughen him. Snape knew of the future battle between Harry and Voldemort. Even though Harry's childhood was not a sheltered one, Snape could have seen Harry as lacking in the fighting instincts needed to achieve a great victory over Voldemort.

I don't think he felt bad at all, harry reminded him of James and he felt Harry acted too much like his father. Snape kept harry safe only for Lily's sake and even said so when Dumbledore asked if it could be that Snape had grown to care for harry. Snape's reply was to show his patronus which was a reminder of Lily. It was all for the love of Lily.

I think that Severus had some reticence toward Harry but went passed them to try to protect him. He did not have to teach him all the extras that he did. Severus is a complicated character, a lot of inner demons and memory blocks. I thought the author was really good describing Severus' condition. His hate for Harry was mainly his hate of himself for not being able to react in time and differently in the past. And if you read all the books, you might think like me that James Potter was a SOB. A bully. The kind of person that I love to see fail or even make them fail. I don't like people making fun of others because they are different or introverted. Harry is way better than his father, he doesn't make fun of other people. Severus had many reasons to hate James Potter, the Harry part was only because his pain was shifted toward Harry when he saw him the first time.

The relationship between Snape and Harry is definitely a complicated one, but Snape's hatred of him is clear. He despised Harry from the get go, and only protected him because Dumbledore convinced Snape that Harry was the key to Voldemort's ultimate demise. Throughout the books, everyone says Harry looks so much like his father. An almost spitting image, except for his eyes. He has his mother's eyes. When Snape first lays eyes on Harry, he sees, like everyone else, James Potter - his old school bully and tormentor - so he automatically hates him. Then looking at Snape's background and his choices - he was actually a Death Eater for a time up until Voldemort killed Lily (don't forget he was the eavesdropper on the prophecy) - it shows a certain type of personality; the kind that generally feels no regret. So, I think, no, Snape did not feel any regret to how he treated Harry. As far as he was concerned, Harry was always just an ugly reminder of his school days with James.

It's really complicated, but I think when they're in danger, he feels the need to protect Harry because he feels that need to help Lily.
But when he can be mean, he is because it's payback kind of, for what James would do to him.
So I think he doesn't regret what he did to Harry, except a little bit of the bad stuff butt knows it was right to protect him.
I guess? Again it's complicated.

Eh, if he had lived, I doubt he'd regret being a complete dick to a bunch of children, and especially Harry. He'd justify that he's done enough probably.

I'm late to the party here but I always figured Snape had to be mean to Harry in order to keep up appearances for Voldemort. If he had been compassionate it would have betrayed his vow to Dumbledore.

I think he did feel bad for saying and doing all that stuff. I mean he probably didnt feel bad right away but I think he did eventually

I think we are supposed to feel bad for him after finding out that he had been pining after Lily for pretty much his entire life and all that (and I do), but that was a plot twist for us not him. Harry had absolutely no fault in being James's son and Snape hated him for reminding him of how Lily chose James (I think at least) and knowingly treated him terribly. Maybe he has some regrets but like he pretty much abused a young boy for 6/7 years for something that wasn't his fault so I just don't think he's that good of a person. Grief can really mess people up

Nope, don't think so to be honest. He hates Harry, as he is the son of james and only protects him because of Lilly. I can't see where he shows, that he doesn't want to be mean to Harry.

He didn't have to help Harry after Dumbledore died. He continued to help him and wanted him to know the truth about his feelings for Lily. I feel this is his way of apologizing to harry for having to be so mean to him for his life instead of being able to be a father figure like Sirius.

It's complicated

Snape is of two minds. He resents Harry because Harry should have been the child he had with Lily, yet Harry is his only surviving link with her. Also, he has chosen sides and Harry is a potent weapon against Voldemort.

He tries to help him many times, so I would say yes

Definitely not. He despised Harry and expressed his hate for the child of his former school enemy continuously through the book.

I mean he was the embodiment of his failure but yes, I think snape regrets what he did.
