Ch 11 (view spoiler)[so far I really like this! I love the cerebral palsy rep and I’m glad Harper explained what it meant to Rhen because I was blanking on my freshman bio knowledge. I want to learn more about the curse and how/when Rhen will turn into a beast. How would Harper loving him break the curse too? The enchantress said something that bothered me about how Ironrose would change after the curse was ended. Or something but it made me squint my eyes at her. I love how Harper didn’t even blink when trying to save those villagers from the highwaymen. I love how fierce she is. (hide spoiler)]

Ch 23 (view spoiler)[okay I am absolutely loving this! I think it’s a wonderful idea for Rhen and Harper to present this alliance as a front to save his kingdom. I wonder how he’ll tell Emberfall about the fate of his parents tho. I love Grey but I don’t like the situation he’s been forced into. I loved seeing Harper learn to throw knives, I want her to become even more badass than she already is. I’m really starting to hate Lilith. (hide spoiler)]

through Chapter 11 (view spoiler)[ I love that the book starts out with the prince (Rhen) under his curse, turning back from the monster, and we see right away what he's gone through for over 300 seasons. Then we are in present day Washington DC with Harper while she is on lookout for her brother, and we see she's been dealing with stuff too. She's thrust into the cursed castle, and tries to escape, and finds out some stuff along the way. Grey, Rhen's only guardsman left, is helping her, and is also playful with some local kids. Rhen is being nice and helpful too. I really like this book so far. (hide spoiler)]

So if he has one more season that requirement would be null and void or she's planning something vicious. (hide spoiler)]

I loved this story!!! Great retelling of Beauty and the Beast with a magical/fairytale twist. Great characters. I loved the dual POV, between Rhen and Harper, and then later between Monster and Harper. I loved how heroic and self-sacrificing Harper was from the start.

16% (view spoiler)[I am loving this so far! The writing really drew me in and I was devouring the pages immediately.

I love Harper so much. She is so strong and relentless and amazingly fierce. I love that she stands up for other people, the girl in the street and then the family that was being attacked. I love that she stands up for herself and is resourceful.

I feel like I need more information about the curse. And I am a little confused about Lilith. Is she the one that cursed Rhen? I felt that it was unclear.

I like Rhen for the most part. It's sad that he has had to endure the curse so many times and lose so much in the process.

I'm not sure what to make of Grey, though I liked the moment when he chuckled at Harper when he was showing her how to hold a dagger. It at least showed that he has some sort of feelings underneath his gruff exterior. (hide spoiler)]

I am 104 pages in so far I like this take on Beauty and the Beast its different than any other that I have read. So far I like the characters especially Harper she is a interesting character I have not really read a book with a character that has a disability like cerebral palsy. I also like that how hard she will fight at first just to escape I am liking where it is going so far. I am liking the story so far only a few things have happened like Harper being brought to this world she knows nothing about and a little bit about the curse. So overall I really like this book will read more later.

I don't really get how there is just a room of gore. Especially is Rhen is fine. Is the room enchanted to always be there like that?

I really like the banter between Harper and Rhen. It's always clever and a little snarky in a playful way. I'm liking the slow-burn between them.

I am kind of conflicted on how I feel about Harper's position. On one hand her mother is dying and her brother is in trouble but on the other hand if she leaves the curse can't be broken and she condemns tons of people to that fate. Part of me was angry at her for wanting to meet with Lilith and ask her to send her back home and part of me totally understood.

I really love how beautiful Harper's heart is. She truly cares about people and the fact that she wants to help people she doesn't know is so heartwarming. I like that she chose to take the extra food from the palace to the people at the inn.

Harper really handled those thugs pretty well. I was grinning from ear to ear.

I really loved the scene where Grey teaches Harper how to throw a blade. And if I am not mistaken, I think that Rhen might have been a little jealous. (hide spoiler)]
