Hi! I hope I'm posting this in the right spot. Peter announced yesterday that next month's book is American Predator: The Hunt for the Most Meticulous Serial Killer of the 21st Century. The Kindle version is available for $13.99 right now which is the lowest I've seen it. I've wanted to get it for awhile so I've been price watching. If you need to pick it up, try to grab it soon :) Hope everyone is having an amazing day!
I thought I would pick it up on Friday. I think I'll go with the cheaper version which is ebook as well. Can't wait to get started. My husband saw the movie and he said it was great. I haven't seen it though. Linda wrote: "Hi! I hope I'm posting this in the right spot. Just a heads up if anyone is part of the book of the month subscription box. They have American predator as an add on for $9.99.
Truly looking forward to this months read! I usually don’t go for the true crime genre, but this one in particular was deliciously disturbing; and so I must!😌
I just put my hold on it at the library but doubtful I'll even get it within the month (#24 on 2 copies). Can't afford to buy anything that isn't a necessity this month so I guess I'll focus on the extra credit ;)
I want really read this book. I am on the library waiting list 8 weeks. So I may read it by September.
I just ordered American Predator from Book of the Month Club yesterday. I’ve been a member of BOTM off and on, but they had a really good deal to join back for free, so I did two add on books for $9.99 each also. I got three hardbacks for $19.98! Something to think about.
Can't wait to read!!!Suggestion for next month's book: 'Filthy Rich' James Patterson... it is now considered true crime
It was written as fiction at the time... to avoid defamation lawsuits.Over the past couple of weeks the story has broke in mainstream media & convictions have been made against the individual for Sex Trafficking minors... Jeffrey Epstein, no sure how many people are familiar with what is going on but yes now it is an actual event & needs to be shared!
I haven’t read it just yet! I doubt real names were used but James Patterson had 3 private detectives working for him at the time so i’m dying to read it!
Y’all I just called my library to see if they could get a copy of American Predator so fingers crossed!
Emily wrote: "J.N., mine doesn’t even have it yet soooooo yeah lol."It doesn't look like it's been out long. Not even a month, lol.
Mine didn’t have it. I got it on audible and just paid for it since it was less than my monthly subscription.
If anyone has Scribd it is on there! I already listened to it before I knew it would be September's pick. It is really interesting!
I’m not for sure if I’m going to go for this one. This kind of true crime doesn’t interest me as much, so if I can’t borrow it from the library I’ll pass.
There's a poll for the American Predator livestream. Please vote & we will do our best to accommodate!
I was almost going to skip this one and lets just say i'm really glad i didnt. I finished it in just 2 days and man... what a wild ride. Cant wait to discuss with you all next month!
Is anyone having issues with Scribd? I listened to two audiobooks (one being American Predator) this month and now pretty much any book I was going to read is marked as "available the day after my subscription renews." Even My Friend Anna is marked this. Unlimited is 2 audiobooks? That's nuts. I didn't save anything to my "For Later" shelf, either (because last time I added too much to that, it did the same thing to those books). Now it's for any book I search that has an audio with it. I guess I will definitely be skipping this one out, then. I have too much physical and ebook stuff to read for September.

But I'm finding that the cookbooks available to me makes up for it.
@J.N. If you read to many popular books back to back it cuts you off until the next billing cycle. I think the most I was able to read in one month was probably 4 or 5 books. sometimes it's less than that. it's never more than a few though. which is why i mostly use libby or audible.

I wish Libby had more of what I wanted but the selection of mine is slim, especially for true crime.
