The original day we were going to start this one, I did start it and I honestly had a difficult time putting it down. It captured my interest right away so I think this will be a good one!

I am absolutely loving this so far.

Poetry (view spoiler)[I love the little poetry excerpts. They are so emotional but so well written and go perfectly with the characters and it doesn't mess up the flow. (hide spoiler)]

Nathan (view spoiler)[UGH. He treats Rae like she is an item. I feel so bad for her. He doesn't care for her emotionally at all and as we saw, he doesn't know much of anything about her. (hide spoiler)]

I am only on around page 120 in Five Months Earlier and I think the section that's a first

Poetry: (view spoiler)[ I agree with you about the poetry. I love it for a couple reasons: I love poetry; the reading goes faster. LOL But seriously I enjoy the poetry and in this book it is cathartic for the writer. (hide spoiler)]

Nathan: (view spoiler)[I do feel bad for his situation with his dad, but I'm pretty disgusted with him for all the pressure he puts on Rae to get physical. I'm at the part where she really wants to ditch him and has basically told him to get lost, but he's so NEEDY and to me he really puts guilt trips on her. I'm not too happy with his character so far. I especially disliked how he appeared to be a potential physical abuser. (hide spoiler)]

Dean: (view spoiler)[JERK!!! I haven't seen/read a whole lot about him but what I have read he's an A--!! I couldn't believe he lost his job and then told Rae she had to give him or check and he gave her just $40 THEN he slapped her for questioning it. JERK! (hide spoiler)]

Rae: (view spoiler)[I obviously feel bad for her too because of Dean and because she is having such a difficult time letting Nathan go, but it seems like that's what she should do. If they are meant to be, he'll change his attitude and get back with her later. (hide spoiler)]

I also really like it so far, but if Nathan (view spoiler)[ doesn't change REAL fast or she doesn't dump him, I'll have a difficult time loving their romance if it goes in that direction. In fact, I won't like it. LOL (hide spoiler)]

I'll try again...I'm at three months earlier...a revolution. I'm pretty sure that's page 215 of the paperback edition. I must say that I am (view spoiler)[ SO angry with Rae's mother!! I can't stand Dean because he's simply a jerk with seemingly NO redeeming qualities. But her mother is her MOM!!! Should be her protector!! I can't believe that Dean sold his own car, takes Rae's paychecks minus $40, and now he wants to take her entire savings and her mother doesn't speak up??!!! Oh, I'm SO angry!!! She simply tosses Rae her Christmas gift and barely says Merry Christmas. I can't handle mothers like that, even in books! (hide spoiler)]

Now that I have finished approximately pg. 272 and am just getting ready to start from bad to worse I remember one of the things I had posted earlier but deleted. LOL I think that Dean (view spoiler)[is into gambling because I remember the phone conversation that Rae heard and he said something like, "Let's do it!" He seems to be in fear if he doesn't get the money he needs, and the only thing I can think of is that he owes money to someone. In the last chapter 2 men showed up at their house looking for him. I just have a feeling they're thugs and he has a gambling debt. (hide spoiler)]

It's going good. :) About the Olympics thing, we had a meeting and talked about how whoever reads the most of the list wins a prize so I am going to read, read, read. :D Basically, right now, we just have to keep reading to be prepared in March-April for the competition.

The marking period ends in 2 weeks and all my grades are looking good. I have a 92 in Biology, which is my lowest grade. We have a test today so I am hoping I do good so I can bring that up a little. :)

We have a Biology project due on Tuesday. We had to relate parts of the cell to something that we like so I did Hunger Games. I finished that project a few days ago.

We also have a Spanish project and it has to be on a tr-fold board with 20 trivia questions and answers. I would say I am about 80% done on that one and it is due on Monday!
