Did you now? How odd said the autobot. I marked it as -phishing- and it is with the email admin who are going to do a forensics. I used protonmail.com because they are more secure than, ahem others. But they got that due to my website. I won't ask how they got to you. As for getting visitors, no address here and at the website's only a PO Box.
The logic behind this is strange though. I mean going after indie authors. Is this some threatened paranoid main stream publisher going after us. Thanks for the reply

In this deeply personal and heart-wrenching memoir, I chronicle my mother's courageous journey from Hong Kong to Canada to pursue a better life for her children. A tireless worker who faced an unhappy marriage and numerous hardships, my mother was unexpectedly diagnosed with stage four lung cancer at the age of 55, despite never having smoked. It's free to read with Kindle Unlimited. Thank you in advance for reading and telling me what you think.

I'm the author of The Lion You Don't See, it's a self-discovery with a splash of courage and a dash of 'oh no, did that just happen?' I think it might be up your alley, or at the very least, give you something to talk about. You can check it out on Amazon here: https://a.co/d/gfzTvn8. If it picques your interest, I'd be grateful for your review. Thanks so much for considering :-)

Susan Doherty | 1 comments My novel Monday Rent Boy (by Susan Doherty) debuted in the Spring of 2024. It deals with a subject that is simply off the table for most readers: child sexual abuse. Predators count on our silence. Count on the fact that we close our eyes. I have tried my best to write a compelling narrative about the friendship between two boys abused by the same man. The third main character owns a bookshop in Somerset UK. It explores temptation, being a bystander, mentorship, resilience, hope, and especially love... because every person we meet, in life or on the page, has something to teach us about love.
I have written a book that opened my own eyes, in the hope that it would open others.

Natchai Stappers | 1 comments Hi everyone

I'm looking for more reviews on my first self-published novel!
I wrote Lonely Nights on High Rooftops as what I would consider a bridge between our present day reality and the future cyberpunk dystopias found works like Neuromancer and Do androids dream of electric sheep.

For Harlow, a young widower who’s turned his back on the tech life, gigging at a retirement home and his friend’s arcade are just means of supporting his meager life… as he waits for it to end. The world is f*d. Sure, there are bright spots. For instance, Neuroreality has become a necessary outlet for people’s frustrations and desires. But when Harlow’s neighborly concern makes him open the broken door of Rose’s apartment — where he finds her lying, unresponsive in her tricked-out dentistry chair — he has no idea what he’s just joined. Her guttural scream, as she returns from a hack-induced coma, marks the start of a partnership to hunt down the culprit, and drags Harlow back to his old life.

Along their journey, Harlow and Rose stumble on two massive conspiracies: one by a mysterious being set to save humanity from itself, the other a megacorporation steering humanity for its own means. As they navigate these conflicting forces, it becomes increasingly apparent that both are deeply personal for Harlow.

To overthrow the corporate regime — and find a semblance of family — Harlow will need to plug back in and wrestle with his past.

I've gotten great reviews from bookstagrammers so far, but would love more reviews and ratings here on Goodreads. I'm also working on a follow up, so any kind of craft feedback would also be appreciated!

If your bookfund for the rest of year is dry, send me a DM and I'll happily send you a free ebook version.

Michael Thomas "Please allow me to introduce myself, I'm a man of wealth and taste (not exactly true on either count..."... My appreciation to the Rolling Stones for usage of their "Sympathy for the Devil.

So, who the hell is Michael Thomas and what the #$%% is THE LAST GENERATION?

THE LAST GENERATION can be a slow and difficult read.  Yet, crafted exceptionally well due to a patience of years to compose, it's as unconventional and unique as I am.  However, as an upshot to such unusualness, my work will most likely have a limited audience.
In an homage to "OL Blue Eyes" himself, "I did it, I did it my way".  As, my entire literary career has been deposited into a solitary work, unshackled from those bounds of a writing school formula.  Yet, in so doing, I'm an outsider, attempting to scale that wall to the castle.

An exceedingly simplistic description to an extremely complex work, but, hey, hunger necessitates that I present a refection upon your plate.  So, with that expectation for those childhood years to progress in the same Manor, Seth's path was altered by a bullet (of mental health) so forceful, that Mother was pressed to deliver Seth to a facility that will eventually extract the innocence of who he was, and can no longer be... "It's not that he's complaining, he only wants to understand."
While at Epidaurus, Seth will become entangled to those residents (of multifarious peculiarities) with far more diverse bullets impeding their transitions into maturity than his own.  Yet, they'll assist Seth in that metamorphosis to whom he shall ultimately become, and what he must do.
Seth, Jo-Jo, Pregnant Mary, Pez D Spenser, the Preacher, Peter the Rock, Mad Mike, Ollie Crums: the multifarious peculiarities at Epidaurus.

                                                     Oh, who I be?
                                                     Be I a ray?
                                                     A flea?
                                                     That tick of oddity?

                                                     Oh, who I be?
                                                     A whim?
                                                     That glee?
                                                     Those tiffs with tragedy?

Perhaps, you be peculiar enough?  Possibly, you be curious, compassionate enough?  Perhaps, possibly, you be participant in this evolution, this evolution to legit lit?

If you're presently not gripped, I presume those moments to captivate your attention shall only further fade.  So, my appreciation for being that receptacle for my voice, and any possible considerations towards my work, with a big hug of gratitude should that receptacle become a megaphone, so that THE LAST GENERATION may settle into its communities (I'm literally giving my work away on my website, both my novel and my short story/blog series - please, if you can spare a few moments, check out my website on the link is below, as it reflects who I am and what my work is all about).

David Story | 1 comments Have you ever been disappointed by the actions, or lack of, of the legal system? For instance, how about when someone is set free of a horrific crime because of a minor technicality? Did you say to yourself, “That is wrong? Something should have been done?”
What if your son, daughter, brother, or sister was kidnapped and sold into slavery, but the people responsible got away with it due to an error in the paperwork? Suppose some high-dollar lawyer could “game the system” and get their guilty client off.
What if…. YOU had the means and resources to do something about it?
What if a group of these disappointed and fed-up citizens banded together to do something about it?
This story is about such a group of everyday people just like you. People who have suffered from injustice. People who know someone who was, or is, the victim of a broken legal system. People who are tired of the failures of the legal system

Wei Chen (weiteng) | 4 comments Hi everyone!

I'm Wei Teng, an indie author from Singapore, and I am looking for ARC readers for my upcoming memoir, Zen Musings from a Fly on the Wall (approx. 19 500 words). Here's a quick blurb:

One woman’s journey of getting to the heart of experiencing life in its fullest form, from the biggest to the smallest of moments in her everyday life.

In this light-hearted meditation on living mindfully, Wei Teng Chen describes how by slowing down and paying attention to all that surrounds her, she gets much more out of life, whether at home or carrying her backpack across the globe. In her collection of personal essays written across a decade, Wei Teng’s musings offer us a balm of gentle wisdom that gives comfort in this fast-paced modern life we’ve inherited.

“These days, I stop to breathe in deeply the faint scent of jasmine flowers in my neighbourhood, which I’d never smelt before this time of the year. I like to see that as a small victory; the fact that I managed to slow down my lived-time and create a headspace that is no longer so cloistered and cluttered, leaving no space for such simple wonders…”

I'm looking for enthusiastic readers to receive a free ARC in exchange for an honest review on Goodreads/Amazon. The ARC is available in pdf. The release date is 31 January, and I’d love to have reviews up by 31 February.

If you're interested, please reply to this thread or email me at chenwt@gmail.com

Thank you so much, and I look forward to hearing from you! 🌟
