This was a remarkably good book with plenty of funny moments mixed in with suspense and violence. At first glance this looked like a cozy but the cover held a more serious motive. Definitely be reading more of this series, starting at #1

This has been on my TBR forever, I've avoided all reviews of the book and the movie. I think I went through every emotion possible reading this book. If you haven't read this book please do, there is no HEA in the traditional sense, instead there is a feeling of freedom and an acceptance that love means that we don't get to choose how others live but accept and achnowledge their right to choose.

Review: The Flow streams keeping the many planets and star systems of the Interdependency connected have begun to collapse, and the Empire itself is in danger of collapsing right along with them unless desperate measures are taken to save as much of human civilization as possible. But despite scientific proof of the impending disaster, many refuse to believe that life as the citizens of the Interdependency know is about to come to an end, and Emperox Grayland II and her handful of allies have their hands full trying to convince them otherwise.
An excellent sequel to The Collapsing Empire, introducing some fascinating new facets to the wordlbuilding and adding some delicious new twists. Needless to say, I still adore Kiva - in all her frequently foulmouthed, occasionally violent, always asskicking glory.

This is my go to series when I've been DNFing everything and I just need a win. They're always funny, they're always quick, and I always enjoy them. This one was one of the weaker books in the series for me. I didn't click with the humor, the pages flew by but the plot was still kind of slow, and there was some strange character voice things that I just didn't get. Of course there was still Oberon to make everything better so there was at least that much. I'll keep going soon and just hope the next one is a little more my speed.

Review: Another fantastic read in this series. Kat, an investigative reporter who is also a Navajo, is looking into why artifacts are disappearing from Native American lands. She meets Gabe, a forest ranger, when she gets hurt which seemed like an accident. As time goes on, more unexplained accidents keep happening and she is being threatened. This story had many twists and turns to keep the reader engaged. I loved learning more about Native American customs in this story.

Sorry to hear that, Cait! :( Thanks for playing with us, hopefully you'll get your laptop situation sorted out and will be back on GR soon. :)
Finally, I've been holding off on this one just for this shelf!

review: Two male writers of Gay Romance novels meet in Durango, Colorado, Aaron is fully gay but Conor believed he was straight until he kissed Aaron. For promoting their books and the new series they are writing together they decide to do a fake relationship but soon that turns into a real relationship and an internet storm happens when Conor's past relationships with women are found out. As if Conor couldn't be bisexual or even realized later in life he was gay. The antics of the two men and how their friends and family react make this a book I will enjoy rereading

Same here, either way is fine with me. Sounds like this'll be an executive decision for the captain to make. :D

Review: All Ward Security accountant Daniel Hendricks wanted was a relaxing vacation at the beach... and perhaps a little holiday fling with the hot guy who starts flirting with him pretty much the second he arrives. Little does Daniel know that Edward Raines works for the CIA and is in Bermuda not in search of some R&R but in order to track down a traitor planning to sell secrets to the highest bidder. All he has to go on is a photo of his target, who just so happens to look just like Daniel Hendricks. To top it off, Edward isn't the only one to confuse Daniel with the rogue agent. Soon enough, the two of them end up facing kidnappers, explosions and gunfire, and after Edward has realized his mistake, he is ordered to make use of Daniel's resemblance to the traitor he was supposed to find in order to find the intel he's put up for sale and deal with the potential buyers. Instead of quiet days soaking up the sun, Daniel is dragged along on an international spy adventure taking him from Bermuda to Barcelona and further across Europe, with lethal encounters at every corner and off the charts chemistry with his supposed holiday flirt ramping up the heat.
So much better than the previous book! I love reading books set in places I've been to, and while it's been over a decade since my visit to Barcelona, Toulouse and Paris were on my travelling agenda just a few months ago. I also really liked these guys and their awesome chemistry (which led, not entirely unpredictably, to some seriously hot steamy scenes) - which was almost, almost, enough to make me forget that I really like my spy thrillers a little more realistic and authors getting basic terminology wrong in them happens to be a pet peeve of mine.

Review: Loved this book by two of my favorite authors. The setup is there are 6 friends who are in prep school together. Fast forward where they all have careers and one of the friends is killed in a plane crash. Gabe meets Eve at the bar after the funeral and they hook up for what they both believe will be one night that turns into longer. There is a lot of suspense, as it looks like the plane crash might not have been an accident, along with hot sex between these two. I'm definitely moving on to read the rest of the series.

Review: Ex-soldier turned hotel night manager Jonathan Pine lets himself be recruited by British Intelligence to be infiltrated into the inner circle of big shot arms dealer Richard Onslow Roper. Unbeknownst to Pine, however, background squabbles between UK and US intelligence agencies and doublecrosses might pose an even greater danger to him than the lethal people he is moving among to take down Roper.
Le Carré sure knows how to craft an engrossing tale, and Jonathan Pine makes for a compelling protagonist. Suffice it to say, I read the entire novel - all almost 600 pages of it - in a single sitting, on a weekday evening after work. Now on to watching the TV adaptation!

This was one of those surprising good reads. It was well written and provided a great deal of food for thought. What would you do if suddenly the water was turned off. The story was so well written that I was drawn in from the start, finding myself rooting for the MCs and wanting to know what befell them next and how they would overcome the obstacles

How I love rereading this magical adventure of Harry, Ron, Hermionee and Neville and all the others at hogwarts. I love how Snape plays a red Herring and we are led to think that he is the villian when it is actually nervous Professor Quirell that is possessed by Voldemort. Friendship and teamwork are important in this book.

I’d picked this up a couple of times in the past never having got further than a couple of chapters in. This time I perceived and wow. We start at the school trivia night where all we are told is that a riot broke out between the parents with one ending up dead. We are then taking back to the kindergarten orientation day to what is deemed the beginning of the events that lead to that death. As the story progresses we are momentarily brought back to the immediate aftermath of the death where different characters give their version of what they thought happened. As the story unfolds we are led down a rabbit hole where secrets are revealed, and school politics are in full force, but not once are we told who died. When we get to trivia night the final plot twist comes when the death occurs. A very good read that exceeded expectations

Review: It's Christmastime at Buckshaw, and when Flavia isn't busy plotting the entrapment of Father Christmas by means of chemistry, she's sticking her nose into everything and anything to do with the filmcrew that has just invaded her home to use it as the setting in an upcoming movie. It's not long, however, before the star of the production, famous actress Phyllis Wyvern, turns up dead and Flavia's capturing-Father-Christmas scheme takes a backseat to investigating this newest murder she's managed to stumble across.
Delightfully entertaining as always - it was high time I got around to continuing this series, Flavia's exploits are just so much fun to follow.

Another fantastic Nicholas Sparks book. Katie is running from her abusive husband and lands in a small town in NC. She meets Alex who runs the local store and is a widower with 2 small children. She tries to stay clear of him as she knows she will have to run again as she has before. I loved this story of how Alex and his kids reel Katie in so that she ends up caring for them as much as they do her. Of course, Kevin (her husband) is continuing to look for her and there is heart pounding action.

Review
This was a sweet beach read type book which has amusing moments. The characters were likeable and fun and a relatively decent plot-line if rather formulaic. It did take a while to get into the story especially with thy mystery of a significant past event, despite that it was an enjoyable read.
