King of Scars (2 book series) by Leigh Bardugo (I would recommend reading this one after the Shadow and Bone series)

Both of those ladies have created fully-realized worlds. They know what the streets of their worlds look like, how the tea and alcohol taste, the way the language works, the societal structure (whose persecuted? Whose loved)--the worlds are vividly presented because those ladies understand their worlds to such a detailed degree! They also both have interesting and well-explained superpowers in their books. Some of the powers are standard (fire), but most of them are more abnormal and engaging! I hope you enjoy if you check out any of the series =)

Almost anything by Brent Weeks would fall into this category. He is really good on all levels (including the romance part which many guys fall down on) I recommend his Night Angel Trilogy first. The Night Angel Trilogy
