I am trying to find a book that I got from a library in the late 1990s/early 2000s (but the book itself may have been much older). It was an anthology of sci-fi stories that had essays/postscripts after each story giving a "science fact" perspective on the story. I remember one story involved a married couple on a spaceship who were part of a crew going to colonize somewhere (maybe Mars?) and another one was about a space traveler travelling in a "pod" who woke up (similar to the movie "Passengers") and I think he/she ended up dying in the end when a backup pod malfunctioned. Any help you could provide is much appreciated! Thank you!

Isaac Asimov had an anthology called "Where Do We Go From Here" (Where Do We Go from Here?) which had that kind of format - science fiction story followed by essay about the science in the story, but I don't think it's the one you're looking for.
