Can’t remember the title of a book I read-I’m thinking 6yrs ago-I checked it out from my local public library and at that time it was in the NEW titles section of the fiction section...it was science fiction...it ended without Resolution and said look for the next title out in the series...it was about space explorers/scientists who discovered a planet that was shaped like a ring?! They found aliens who had blue feathers and were very tall-some of scientists were human and some alien...there was some inference of romance between two of the scientists but no action toward that...lots of science y’all about environment, vegetation etc on the planet...the blue feather aliens were not welcoming so they had to flee and try to survive-also lots of talk about animals they meet-very science centered at times...they befriend an alone towards the end as trying to escape? And find some sort of projection that brings to light information about planet but can’t remember...anyway any help with title would be great! I want to say it was a one word title but not sure!

You should probably put some of that information in the topic header, so that people have an idea of what you're looking for without having to open it.
Thanks for the suggestion but no it was a newer book-definitely seems to be cut from a similar cloth though 😉
Possibly one of the prequels to Ringworld in the Fleet of Worlds series Fleet of WorldsOr maybe a book about Halo Halo: The Flood

I am sorry if I didn’t do it exactly right-I would update and change it but cannot figure out how-please forgive me-I did Read the rules I guess I didn’t realize I was suppose to put so much information in the title I apologize ... thanks for the suggestions but no it was a newer book released in late 2000s or 2010s
Rae wrote: "I am sorry if I didn’t do it exactly right-I would update and change it but cannot figure out how..."You should be seeing greyish "edit" near the thread title (currently: "Science fiction!!!"). If you're using the desktop site.

Oh my goodness I think you might be right! I’m going to look more into this but I seriously think you might have solved the mystery!
Michele, was Michele's suggestion of Bowl of Heaven by Gregory Benford your book?
