... Okay, since I know Jane Yolen is a popular author, that's possibly it, but I'm going to double check later. And if that turns out to be it, I will be genuinely surprised you got that in less than a half hour.

So there’s this brunette woman, a blonde woman, and a witch. The brunette is the main character (I’m pretty sure it was written in the 3rd person, given what happens next). The blonde woman is a Blonde, who is Gorgeous but Vain, while the brunette is Not As Pretty but Smart. They’re walking in the woods with the witch, and they start fighting over the witch’s magic wand (maybe she was a Fairy Godmother, idk). Because the blonde is terrible she ruins everything by somehow casting a sleeping spell on all three of them. They end up passed out in the in the woods for a long time, and the one description I recall from the book is that they specifically sleep "through wars".
SPOILER ALERT FOR A BOOK NOBODY KNOWS ABOUT
Finally some guy, or possibly two guys, come over and find the women on the forest floor. The witch and brunette are kissed awake, but because the blonde is Gorgeous but Vain, or maybe because she got them into this mess, they won’t wake her up.
So the brunette gets married to the guy who kissed her, has kids, and dumps the blonde’s unconscious body in her broom closet. The witch/godmother might get married too but I’m not sure. I think it mentions that the kids play with the body like a rag doll from time to time.
So…as an adult this causes me to question if my teacher’s son was a DudeBro who preferred women who were Not Like Other Girls.
I’m pretty sure it was either a storybook or easy reader since he read it in front of our entire class (I don't think it was part of an anthology or anything?). The book was read to me most likely in 2004, but I'm leaving room for estimation for 03 and 05. I'm like 90% certain it had pictures in it. No idea what the cover looks like. No idea when the book was published or if it was part of my teacher's adult son's childhood.
I don’t know if this is a book that really deserves to be found, but now I’m just like, but what was it???
