Raul Quintana (raulqs) | 2 comments Hi there!

I need lots of help editing my debut novel. It's a thriller and it sits at 53,000 words so let's work together to take the word count up to 70,000. To clarify, I'd need an editor, not a ghostwriter.

I use Office 365 for easier collaboration and I'm easy to work with. I don't care how harsh your feedback is... as long as it makes my book better, we're on the same page. I want to finish my manuscript within three months.

Get in touch and I'll be happy to share more details. Looking forward to hearing from you.

P.N. Elrod (pnelrod) | 90 comments Have you had beta readers look it over first? You can often get volunteers if you offer to beta read their works in turn.

While there are developmental editors, they can cost a bomb. It's better to team up with other writers first and getting multiple feedback from a wider audience.

For instance, if an editor has an issue with some scene, that's just one opinion and you can ignore it. But if three betas all have the same issue, then you know that's something you need to fix.

Hiring an editor should be the last thing an indie writer does.

Here's where you can connect up with betas. Absolute Write is like having 7K friends watching your back. It is free to join.

Good luck! :-)

Thanks for your comments. Yes, I already had five beta readers and wanted to hire an editor. I'll definitely take a look at AbsoluteWrite.com.

Samira Soparkar (samirasoparkar) | 3 comments Hi Raul!

I published my debut novel last year, so I know how exciting (and stressful) this whole process is! I offer copyediting and proofreading services, and would be happy to work with you. I was particularly interested when I read that you're working on a thriller!

I offer a free sample edit, so if you want to send me a few pages of your manuscript (preferably from different sections, so I can get a better idea of the manuscript as a whole), I can give you an idea of what kind of work I do. If you like my style of editing, we can work out a schedule, price, payment plan, etc. to get your book ready on time.

My email: samira.soparkar@mail.utoronto.ca
My website: www.samirasoparkar.com

Best of luck!
Samira

Tony | 16 comments Greetings Raul:

I am a friendly and experienced book editor, and thrillers are a genre I work with (as long as they do not have downer endings). I work with Word, Open Office, and even Google Docs and email. I always work in close collaboration with my clients, for I believe editing a book is a joint effort, not a solo one.
I offer copy, line, and developmental editing. For more details, please check my website.

Sincerely,

Tony Held
