I have recently completed training in proofreading and copyediting and looking to gain more experience, as well as build my portfolio. I am passionate about maintaining the voice and style of an author while flagging inconsistencies, incorrect spelling, grammar, word use, punctuation, capitalization, formatting errors, incorrect use of dialogue tags, etc. I am familiar with the Chicago Manual of Style, but if you already have a style guide in place, that will take precedence. If you don't have a preference or style guide but would like a customized one created for future use, I can do that! I am most interested in the following genres: Mystery, Suspense, Thriller, Romance (except erotic), Christian, and Memoir.
All I ask in return is a brief testimonial if you were pleased with my work! :-)
I realize Space Opera wasn't listed, but I think my manuscript could use a little polish (I read it to myself, read it aloud to someone while editing, then had someone do basic error correcting throughout.)
Let me know if interested. Chicago Manual is fine. Though it's sci-fi, it doesn't try to do all that much invention.
