Following the scene at the night club Pandemonium, Clary receives a frightening call from her mother Jocelyn who tells her to stay away from home. Clary goes anyway, taking Jace with her and encounters the demon. Was she foolish to have returned? Did it make sense that she’d do so?

If was foolish, but understandable. I would have done the same thing if my mom was in trouble. It was smart to take Jace with her.

I thought it very foolish as it was clear her mother was in trouble. Clary was ready to go it alone and that didn’t make sense. She would have been in big trouble without Jace.

I can understand wanting to go to your mom if she was in trouble, but just running inside like that was stupid. She was lucky Jace had followed her.

I also thought this was a foolish act and unfortunately this was her MO throughout this book and into the next as well. I know she's a teenager but this drove me nuts.
