Delay in responses

Some people do or don't do certain types of requests based on preference/interest. Sometimes people work forwards or backwards or skip posts. Posts are sometimes missed inadvertently due to volume.
Fewer people could be working on that section (or someone who used to do them more often stopped). It could be anything.
The best thing to do (anecdotally speaking) is just bump your post after 1-2 days.

Thanks for this info. I didn't realize it was as loose as it is, I suppose, but I understand why it is. And I didn't know if bumping our own posts was seen as like......pushy or something, lol. Good to know it's okay to do!

Librarians, please check page 2 in each board first. :(

Oh I always delete the older post. :) I'm not that evil lol

If you like you can mark it done or if it isn't you can say you've created a new post.

I'd say every couple of days at most :) Personally, I get annoyed if people bump too soon.
I completely understand that librarians are volunteers who have lives outside of GR, and certainly don't expect immediate responses. But it's just become unclear to me what the policy is for how to respond to posts, in what order, etc. And myself and others have often had to bump up our own posts in order to get a response.
Are there fewer folks on hand to respond to requests? For those who are still here, shouldn't the oldest posts be handled first, rather than new ones? Obviously, correcting page numbers isn't of monumental urgency, but there's a lack of transparency about the practices that it would be nice to have cleared up.
Thanks for all the work you all do, truly! GR is a better place for all of your efforts :)
