SOLVED. Teleportation/ Matter transfer YA Sci-fi. [s]

There is this book I read in 2010's. It is a YA novel. In the book its set in a world where teleportation pads ( matter transfer might be highlighted in this) are used commonly and everywhere. In the novel the protagonist's friend starts to change mentally every time she uses the pads. She ( the protagonist) looks into the teleportation technology closer to see if she can help her friend. I do not think it was a part of series but I just can't find it! I can't post more since it will spoil the story but if needed will provide.

Great. Glad you found your book, J'Ai. Your reference to pads (dmats) helped. Turns out there are two more books in this series.
